The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Just sending a message to help protect my fellow bloggers. Whatever you do, stay away from the host Gisol (Global Internet Solutions). I made a huge mistake in signing on with them in 2005, and ever since then, it has been a NIGHTMARE!

Things were fine for the first 3 years at a very minimal account, but then when I wanted to switch hosts, they basically said they had ownership of my domain. Of course, I didn't want to lose my domain name (it is, afterall, my name), so I asked how I can reconcile this. They said I could upgrade my account to this plan that was on promotion and I'd be paying almost exactly the same amount I had before on a yearly basis which was approx. $70. What they didn't explain is that I had to pay for a minimum of 36-months and at full price ($49.95/a month). Only after 8 months is when I could get the rebate (which they, then, blocked my number so I couldn't get ahold of them at this 8-month period).

Soooo not only did they charge my credit card almost $2,000 without my consent, they randomly suspended my account halfway through my term and said the only way I could get access to all my information is if I upgrade my account which would then cost me another $1,000! I obviously refused, and I LOST EVERYTHING!

That is basically my story in a nutshell. I just wanted to warn other that they are a complete fraud!

Had I done my research before and knew any better, I would have noticed all the reports and incidents with this company. There is a class action lawsuit against them and they have an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. BEWARE!

I am doing whatever I can to take action against them, but really, what I want to do most is protect others from becoming a victim of their fraud. The saddest part for me is not the loss of money, but the loss of memories.

Happy Blogging!

Sincerely,
Jiscilla

Thank you for the heads up! I've been looking up some hosts since last month. I have to buy a domain for hubby's business and one for my personal blog - I'm still chewing on the latter though.

I'm sorry you lost everything :(
I'm so sorry this happened to you :( thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading! All I want to do is spread the word and prevent this to happening from anybody else.

Luckily I have backed up a lot of my information...so it's basically a slow rebuilding process.
