The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I've seen a lot of great giveaways on other blogs, and Delilah and I really want to do one too. Does anyone have advice on what to giveaway, or how to get free stuff to giveaway?

I think this is a great question..one I actually have myself- so I'm going to just respond in hopes that my response "bumps" it back up to the top of the forums...cause it works like that, right? **bump** :)
I hope it works that way ;) Sry I was mia from the discussion for a bit, had to go to class. Let's hope we get some good ideas!
Ive bought a couple little cheap bits and using some stuff I got free at work... x
hmm i need a job where i can get free stuff haha
I have more fun with giveaways that I put together myself.. on occasion though someone will contact me asking to do a giveaway. I've never asked someone to give me something to giveaway.
Hmm, I need to find something cool and cheap then. I'm pretty much broke right now.
I've been thinking about doing a giveaway for a while. I have this tomato grower thing that hangs upside down.

My question: how do you mail it to the winner? It seems kinda sketchy asking for someone's home address... Maybe that's just me.
No I agree it seems a little sketch asking for a home address. Also you would need to pay for the giveaway plus shipping... This is starting to seem like too much of a hassle.
That's another problem: the shipping. If it can fit in a letter-sized envelope it should be fine, but paying twenty dollars or something to UPS a package seems like a lot...
Agreed. Maybe I'm better off sticking to some really cute (but cheap) jewelry then. I've seen a lot of blogs do necklaces.
I've only done one. I was approached by the promo person for a company, who was reaching out to various bloggers. You would probably need to be a bit more established, though (I mean, I don't have a ton of subscribers but have been blogging for a while and some regular readers).

I wouldn't shell out money to buy my own prizes to give away, for sure! Plus most of my readers are in the US and I'm not paying for international shipping :P You raise good points about asking for home address and postal costs. (But I mean , you can exchange details through private email etc)
Thanks for the ideas!
