The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I have recently found (what I think to be) my voice/theme of my blog and I definitely want to gain more exposure/readers. I actually tweet a lot and I have a good amount of followers, a few who are bloggers as well and I noticed that they all link their blog on their twitter. I'm sure that I would gain exposure by doing this but I am afraid of people that I do not want to, finding my blog.

My question is how did you become comfortable with friends/family reading your blog and do you edit anything out of it because of this?

I only have a select few friends and family members that know about my blog. It's just easier that way. I keep my blogging away from my facebook because I don't care for all of my friends and family to read it. Not that I ever blog about anything super personal, but some people read too far into things and think everything is about themselves, so I like to keep those aspects of my life separate.
I have two blogs - one that I broadcast all over Facebook and to anyone because it's a travel blog and it's an account of my year abroad, where I can't be close to friends or family. So, of course I'd want them to read it. But I also have a second blog which is way more personal and full of sex and swearing and insecurities and brokenness and I don't really want some people reading it. I've given it out a lot more leniently than I did in the past but it's taken me a long time to come to the point where I stop feeling like I have to hide that part of me. now I'm to the point where I'm thinking, "If they don't like this part of me, then that's their problem." I don't willingly give out the link but if anyone finds it (usually through similar follows on my first blog) then whatever. Chances are, they probably won't say anything to me. The only thing I really wouldn't want is for the boys that I write about in there to find it. Yikes.
I keep my blog to myself and even use a different last name. I don't think it would be horrible if someone I knew found my blog, but the whole reason I blog is to get things off my chest and have the freedom to write what I want about my life without having to feel the need to sensor my material.
At the start of the blog, my blog partner Rox and I had to decide what we wanted this to be: something we could share with our friends and family or a place to be completely honest. Unfortunately in our circumstances those things were mutually exclusive.

We decided it was more important to write what we wanted, without fear of being "caught" or having to censor ourselves. So, we write anonymously and we don't post links or share it anywhere. It was hard in the beginning when we had no readers, but since then our community has grown. I sometimes feel that as we get more comfortable with our own voice, we might decide to be more open with the blog.

Baby steps. :)

When I first started blogging I was so excited that I wanted everyone on Facebook to read it. Now, I am regretting the fact that I shared it so much because I can't be as candid and uncensored as I really would like to be. I would also like to vent about some of the people that I know read it, so it is really unfortunate that I didn't think it through before sharing. Don't get me wrong, I love sharing my writing with others, just not always my parents or other family members.
I decided to stay anonymous so I would have to worry about people finding out it is me. I've gone through a few blogs, non-anonymously, and just didn't feel comfortable posting anything. And to me, that makes blogging pointless. I like having the freedom of saying whatever is on my mind and not having anyone know who I am! Granted there are some things which should always be left offline....but I'm clear with that boundary as well!

I'm not comfortable with that at all. If I let all fam and friends know what I feel as i do in my blog, then what would be a point to a blog? My blog has stuff that most people don't know and probably never will. and then there is deeper stuff that i keep in a journal, lol.
