The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Basically people describe retirement as the age of 65 and just staying in your retirement house(maybe somewhere else away from your neighborhood). But has someone thought of it as not working for someone and just running your business without any hassles and enjoying it to the max?If that is retirement I want to retire at 40....and enjoy my daily life, how about you do you see it that way?

Who are these people you talked about? There is only one thing I know the best person who knows how to take care of you is you. When I grow old I don't wanna be told by my children or anyone to do something that I dont want. I wanna be still independent....that includes financial independence.
I have...I actually just started reading this book on Kindle (which is free btw) about how, in general people in America cannot retire on their 401 (K) plan at 65 yoa based on the current system, and what to do about it. Its called "America: Welcome to the Poorhouse" It's really enlightening.

God, I feel like such an old person.
Why do you feel like an old person? Its just how you condition yourself. Don't be so much focus on saving but rather you must know how to allocate things in life. Everything has a place and time, including savings and investing. As for the 401k thing I don't know. I don't put any there, but what I do is invest in stock through my broker. I invest back home in the Philippines in the Philippine Stock Exchange.
I've thought about what I'd like my retirement to be like. And I also know that my chances of having it are slim to none and I'll probably have the stereotype of retirement instead.

Ideally- I'd love to settle down with a ranch or a riding school somewhere. Montana sounds nice, but it gets kind of cold. I'd probably stick with somewhere more southern- Tennessee or Virginia perhaps? lots of horses around me all the time- breeding, training, buying, selling etc. and really make a name for myself with it all. and then when it comes to old age, passing it on to either one of my kids, or my best/longest lasting employee and just overseeing it all rather than doing the hard labour anymore.
Don't say that you wont achieve your dream, that as if you give yourself punishment. No one can tell you that you cant achieve it except you. If you decide that you wont achieve your dream then you wont achieve it because you said it so....your words are powerful. I like a tweet I just got awhile ago...it says "The mind is everything. What you think you become. Buddha"
sometimes, retirement feels like all i can think about!
guess i better start stock-piling the dollars in the hopes that the dream will be a reality...
