The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Yeah, that was pretty fucking awkward. I got the "alcohol runs in your family" lecture, classic.

That's why i try to keep my blog anonymous! although, sometimes i wish it could just be out for everyone to see!!

The Bitchy Truth

I don't think any of my parents know what a blog is, but my mom did read one entry I posted about my awesome boyfriend around Christmas. I linked it on FB and my mom occasionaly gets on my FB page. She was very complimentary, it was strange.  She didn't even scold me for using the word "bitch" at the end or the fact that my blog title is a sexual pun.  It was nice, but it weirded me out. Whelp, too late now!

Yupmy blog goes I Facebook so my parents an see it . My mom always says " Daniella, was that necessary to post?" or my favorite " there is no reason to curse so much, do you think it makes you sound cool?" to which I reply like when I was 15 now I just don't know any other way to speak, hello!

I told my parents about our blog. They were impressed and happy for us. Our dad even gave us a few suggestions and we have a fashion blog, ha ha!

My parents definitely read my blog, along with other assorted family members. Actually, my mum even whipped out her iPad at dinner to tell her friends about the latest trip I'd been on!

Luckily, I write a travel/expat blog, so there's not much super scandalous personal stuff in it. I don't know what I would do if I wrote a juicier blog and they found it.

Wil, that's awesome that your dad gave you suggestions!

No one in my family reads my blog as far as I know.  There's a part of me that feels like at age 28 I should feel comfortable with letting them read along, but I don't.  It's not that I do or say anything that's particularly parent-unfriendly but I dunno... if I knew my parents were reading, I wouldn't write. So, I don't share it with them.

I'm thinking that it's going to be pretty likely. I set my blog to feed to Facebook again, after deciding "fuck it if offline-friends don't like it". And, wouldn't you know, two days later my dad sends me a friend request. Blech.

On the bright side, one of my grandmothers (his mother) was a reader of my last blog, and felt it necessary to mention that I was a really good writer. That was my "attempt at professionalism" blog, Random Ramblings.

My parents have no idea I have a blog.  They get really confused when I take pictures of my food and tell them I 'blog about it.'  hah.

I do have a story though--  Back in the day when I had a Livejournal, someone (I assumed one of my friends parents) called my high school because they were 'worried about me' over something I wrote in my LJ.  I said something about how I was 'feeling a little depressed.'  Oh, teen angst.  I never found out who called.  So yeah, that was really awkward that someone found it and read it.

I'm just gonna go ahead and hang my head at the fact that my mother not only knows I have a blog, but she reads it avidly...and by avidly, I mean she looks at it several times a day.

And I know this, because I can see it on my stats. So whenever I think, "Whoa, a lot of people looked at my blog toda-oh wait...nope...that's my mom. They're all my mom." This. Is. My. Life.

Good thing I love her/good thing she's way funnier than I am.

haha i love that. i just joined statcounter and it shows you exactly where people are. i feel like texting people and going "i see youuuuuu"

I know my mom reads my blog, but we've never actually talked about it. It's a strict "don't ask, don't tell" unspoken policy that works perfectly. She can find out things in my life I'd never tell her and I don't censor myself too much. I have had a few entries where I say "parental disgression is advised" and warn her to stop reading, but that's more to imply a PG 13 rating than much else

yup. and believe you me...this is not a parent friendly blog... www.awkwardsexandthecity.blogspot.com
