The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Yesterday I changed my blog layout from two to three column look and I really like it apart of one thing. I can't upload my former photo to my header. It shows me like it really uploads, but it doesn't. It’s like something is fixed in the html text but I’m hopeless at programming so I have no idea how to change it. If you could help me with that, I would be really grateful, or maybe you know some sites that I could turn to?

Hope someone will help me!

love. deva!

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. With the meetup this weekend, I didn't have enough time to go past the first few most recent posts at any one time.

As far as setting a background goes, it does look like there is a fixed image defined in the template. The good news is, it shouldn't be that hard to get your blog looking the way you want it.

In order to change the image, you'll need to figure out the URL of the image you want to use as your new header image. If you cannot determine how you can get at the image, you can upload it to ImageShack, K(affeinated) Images, or any other image hosting site you like. Just make sure you have the direct URL to the image.

Next, find the line below in your template:
#header {
background: transparent url(http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/425/bgjw8.jpg) bottom left no-repeat;
}

and replace the URL between the parentheses (don't get rid of the parentheses or anything else on that middle line, just the URL) with the URL to the header you want to use.

Once you make the switch, go back and check everything out. I didn't go ahead with testing the theme with different-sized images, so if your header has different dimensions, it might make things look a little wacky. We can work on that once you swap out the image if you think it's necessary.

If you don't feel safe making the modification yourself (if you make a mistake, it won't blow everything up, but things might not look right), feel free to get the image to me somehow and I'll make the modification myself.

Make sure to let us know how it goes!
I did what you said and it doesn't work. U have any other idea? please...
so yeah I think I need your help with the photo, now it looks a bit funny, or maybe you can tell me how to resize it. would be good to know for the future.

thank a lot for your help!
You can resize it with the image editor of your choice (Photoshop, Fireworks, Paint.NET, Paint Shop Pro, Aviary, etc.). You'll need to re-upload the image, but that shouldn't be too much trouble.

The original image was slightly wider at 964x122 (while your image is 800 pixels wide), which explains the gray bar left over with the way everything is set up at the moment. If you have an image that wide (or wider so that you can crop it), that would probably be a better choice. (If you'll notice, the bottom of the picture is also being shown, so you don't want something too much taller than 122 pixels or the top will be cut off.)
I'll work on it today, with any problem I will contact you. Once again thank you!
Try getting rid of the space between "url" and "(" in the code you just added (under "header") so that it looks like url( instead of url (

Let me know if this helps. ;-)
Ashley is right. It's not 100% necessary, but you'll probably also want to move 'bottom no-repeat...' back up onto the same line as url(); for consistency's sake.
OMG! You are a Genius!!!! now I have way too large photo to fit it but at least I know it works!!!! Thank you so much!!!
