The Bloggers With The Most To Say

How much information do you choose to share about yourself? i.e. do you share photos, where you live, who your friends and family are? I've seen a spectrum of bloggers- from those who share everything right down to their address, to those who won't even let on which country they live in, let alone what they look like.

I'm pretty anonymous at the moment, but only because I'm fairly new to it, and therefor cautious.

What kind of blogger are you and why?

I give as much as needs to be known... My state, my first name, picture and that's about it. It's blogging not dating or what have you. So really people have the choice to say as much or as little as they like, some being more daring then others. I give off bits and pieces of my life, but never pictures of family or friends. I think it's a bit violating to them unless they've okayed it.
I do this, too.
The things I do not mention/show in my blog are...

My address.
My phone number.
My state.
Pictures of my wife, myself and family. HOWEVER, I do have my picture as my avatar and I'll show mine and Jen's pictures to friends, on guild forums, etc.
The company we work for, when we're working.

Think that is about all... I'm not really anonymous, I just am a somewhat private person. Close online friends know a lot about me and my wife, those who aren't get to know little bits here and there. My blog is honest and about our true selves and I don't hide my identity, hobbies, etc.
I don't really think about privacy that much; I have pictures of myself up and people can easily guess my name. People know I live in Scotland, but I'm not sure whether they know which city. I talk about my work a bit and if someone knows which city I live in, they wouldn't have that much trouble finding me..

Some of my bloggy friends get added onto my Facebook and thus have access to Every.Bit.Of.Information that's in there.

So I'm not really private at all. I'd never share my address or number though because of creepsters, and I'd never upload pictures of my friends/family because they haven't selected a bloggy life. Also I'd never share the name of my workplace because people could search it, point it out to my boss and then there's the possibility of.. bye bye job!
I've set up a whole identity that spans across forums, facebook, here, my blog, etc. with key pieces of information intentionally falsified, starting with my name.

I use pictures of myself because I like making connections with people, not avatars.
i know that if someone wanted to track you down, its not that hard, especially if they had the knowledge or the money to pay someone to do it for them. So hiding little facts is only holding out on you're audience, which kind of defeats the purpose of blogging in my opinion.
I am pretty anonymous because a professor once told me to be and it's true that I don't want my real life (read: professional life) associated with my blog, etc.

but, i really wish i felt comfortable using my name or at least a photo! if eel so impersonal and i don't like it. but i just can't stomach the idea of a colleague - or worse - patient telling me they enjoyed reading about my demands for more sexual stunts from my boyfriend. you know!?!?
I am quite happy/please/proud of what I say and write, so I feel there is no reason for me to be anonymous at all. I wouldn't put my address or phone number up, just because there is no real reason. No doubt people could find it by piecing together things I've said.

A lot of people I know in real life regularly read my blog (it has actually really surprised me), which include my boss and my mom. The only thing I lose from the lack of anonymity is that I need to watch out when complaining about friends (though people don't really want to read that), and to not make it obvious I blog at work sometimes.
I'm not really anonymous at all. When I first started blogging I only had my link up for family & friends so that was never an issue for me. At this point, I still use it only for family & friends and on this website... I don't think I use any personal information although my city is up there so that narrows it down quite a bit?
But I've never been full-out worried about that on my blog. I never really thought about it that way, to be honest! I don't think i share ENOUGH to be worried either. Pictures make a blog more fun anyway :)
I will give my first name (Initial is my middle name), province, photo and job, but never place of work. I expect it would be easy to figure out my hometown, but I've never actually posted it. Part of this is just habit from when I was a teenager and respected my parent's paranoia about the internet. My Mom never wanted me to blog in the first place. I like being personal when I blog, partially because I like reading blogs that give you an idea of the author's life.
As far as family and friends, none of them read it. It would be easy for them to, though, the url is posted on my FB. This does limit my content to some extent but, if I don't want my sister reading then I should consider whether I want the rest of the world to have access to it.
The only time I kept my blog under wraps was when my boss (who was great) wanted to read it. I'd done one post on a scam product, and how he was so funny for swearing by it.
I don't feel that it's really necessary to give a lot of person information in order to talk about my day/life or to say what is on my mind. It's clear that I live in Philly but I don't say where, what school I go to, no pictures, no family or friends name. I think that there are so many dangerous aspects of revealing too much information and if I can successfully say what I want to without it, what is the point.

no names, no pics, no real personal info.

if people need to know what i look like in order to read my posts then they should go to facebook or something.
