How Anonymous are you?
How much information do you choose to share about yourself? i.e. do you share photos, where you live, who your friends and family are? I've seen a spectrum of bloggers- from those who share everything right down to their address, to those who won't even let on which country they live in, let alone what they look like.
I'm pretty anonymous at the moment, but only because I'm fairly new to it, and therefor cautious.
What kind of blogger are you and why?

I am pretty much as anonymous as you can be; I don't share my real name, picture, location, people's names, anything like that. However this was because my first "blog" back in the day (a livejournal) I had completely open and loved it, and then when I started blogging again in college I wasn't and I hated it. I felt like I couldn't blog about what I wanted to because my friends would see everything. And well sometimes you just want to rant and say things that people you know don't need to hear.
Lately though on my most recent bit of blogging, I've been thinking about letting out a little more information. I've met a lot of great people through this network, and it would be great if they could know the "real" me. I don't let people in my life know that I blog, and I'm not posting on my Facebook or anything, so I'm not concerned for them finding me on here. And honestly if the people in my life want to go through the effort, they can go right ahead and find me haha
It really comes down to how comfortable you are with what you share, that's really all that matters in the end ;-)

I'm fairly open but not overly so. My blog is linked to my Facebook... OMG... Everyone could actually find out everything about me... I never talk about work in my blog (maybe passing references but nothing significant), I never slag off friends or colleagues and I never post pictures of my friends or family. So I have nothing to worry about really. It's ok to be open as long as you don't bitch about people or talk about work too much. I don't mind people I know thinking I'm a bit weird by sharing things about myself, as long as I don't get into trouble of any kind because of what I write.

Um, well I don't share my address, other than e-mail. That's just ludacris and extremely dangerous.
But other than that, I'm not annonymous. Maybe that in itself is dangerous... I don't know, but I've had no problems with it thus far. (Knock on wood.)

I started my blog because of my situation with having a baby and the drama behind it. I was sick of the rumors and why I was ashamed and confused and upset about my daughter's father. I do not name names in my blog, rather give people titles except for myself. My name is really Mandy Moore (Amanda). Because of the circumstances behind my daughter's upbringing, I think someday I'll show her my blog to fully understand why she doesn't have a father and what dishonesty does.
I've often worried he will find my blog, but at this point, I don't care. He can't do anything to me and I see it as sweet revenge for what he did to me.
I've learned to not care what others think of me and as far as my privacy is concerned, I will never give out my address or phone number. Period.

I also blog a lot about LGBTQ (that is Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer) rights and life, or at least I plan to, because I consider myself a lesbian and I have many, many lesbian gay bisexual transgender and queer family and friends, plus of course straight ones.
I think blogging is a GREAT way to meet others like yourself, not to mention get information out there, stop the hate. Not many people know what is going on through the mind of someone who is lesbian, or transgender, or queer or hell, even straight. I'm the one in my group of friends who teaches everyone else (that wants to learn, of course.)
So I believe in blogs being personal. I believe in getting things out there, that I may not be able to do other wise.
But I also believe in privacy and being safe. I don't see the reason why one person may need to know my state or why another wants to know where I work, etc., etc. We move, we work at different places, it's who we are and what we love that stays the same.

I am usually an open book and share pretty much everything about myself unless there is just no need for it (my address etc.). The only time I can't disclose info is when it comes to my work as a nurse for the obvious reason of patient confidentiality, which is sometimes very unfortunate because I have some hilarious stories!
