The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I'll go first

1. I think I could add more pictures that I, myself have taken. I'm a photographer and that would challenge me to have my blog be at least 90% my own photography (as opposed to finding images on flickr...devaintart...etc). It would be hard, but I think it would pay off in the long run.

What about you?!

Isn't it funny that, when people think about ways to "improve" their blog, they oftentimes think about pictures? Or hyperlinks? Or YouTube clips? Sometimes the minimalist approach works, though your blog is very aesthetically pleasing, both visually and aurally. I wish more bloggers focused on sharpening their words.
Amen. Attention to killer writing is paramount; concise, sharp content. Better audience engagement. Innovative ways to tell simple stories.
you're totally right. Mine is embaressingly filled with spelling errors, bad grammer, the like....it should be a frontal point of attention for sure. Thanks for your comment and intellect. As a photographer, I usually won't even look at a blog unless it has wonderful pictures though.
I'm am totally with the sharpening their words.
I need to find the right a balance among the types of content I tend to post.
To be honest, I think I need to slow down my posting and really flesh out my writing.

Of course, that could be argued with, but still... that's my one big thing.

I think that when most bloggers start trying to improve their blogs, the first thing they attempt to do is increase posting frequency. I think that can backfire in a major way if the content isn't there. Posts that read: "Hey! Nothing to report today but I promised you guys I'd post every day!" make me feel duped. I clicked on your blog to read your fresh content and this is all you have for me? Not cool. Not cool.

My advice is to post only when you have compelling subject matter. Otherwise, what are you wasting your time for? (And our time, too, of course!)
totally agree. I dont think I could do the whole NaBloPoMo thing. It would just be like one sentence and I dont think that would improve my blog. Thats more like a tweet, ya know?
Was that english? I'm so out of the loop. Yes I go between not posting for days and then posting 10X in a day. Could definitely improv on that. Let's riff on this. What is "compelling subject matter" to you?
I'd say compelling subject matter is something you would consider to be interesting to share with the entire Internet. Show us your new baby niece. Show us your renovated bathroom. Tell us how the job interview went. But I truly don't care if you had cheese for lunch. Share that with Twitter if you really need to tell SOMEONE. ;)
ooh NaBloPoMo is national blog post month. I was going to participate but I was like I don think I have something interesting to say every day. Unless people want to hear that I had a great turkey sandwich ya know?
i'd like to see more conversation happen on my blog, which has to do with my content and the way i respond to comments. i've been playing around here and there to see what works.
