How did you make it big??

How did you get your blog audience to grow? Was it through continuous shameless self promotion (my current method so I'm not judging!) or through word of mouth? How long were you blogging before you 'made it big'?

I'm not big at all, but my audience grows each week.

Quite simply put: Get out there and read those blogs, don't forget to comment regularly! And then do more and more and more!

I don't think I've made it "big" yet, I'm pretty medium by my standards. However, I am curious to see what others say because I've tried so many tactics and while I have a pretty decent following now, it's not getting any bigger.

I'm with Kendra. I don't have many followers (in fact I'm not sure I have any but I have numerous hits on every single post with a measly two comments to my entire blog) and I'm all over the web promoting my blog. I'm really interested to see what others say.

I was featured on the local news, then in the newspaper. And yes, it was shameless self promotion, I will admit.

I join bloghops and link parties every week and make an effort to visit/comment on everyone's blog who links up (with actual, thoughtful comments, mind ya.), I have my blog listed on business cards I give out when I go to my local anime convention every year...

So yeah, a lot of totally not shameless self-promo. :)
