The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I'm trying to brainstorm ideas for a banner for my blog. I think mine is too dull and drab right now. I'm teaching myself how to use illustrator in order to make a better one.
How have you guys come up with ideas for your banners in the past?

I know you want to express professionalism with the advice/reviews you give but as long as you chose a font that isn't one of those so-much-fun-you-cant-really-read-it ones it won't convey a lack of credibility. I think it's ok for the tag line but would definitely change the title font.
Next, I'm guessing that the size/shape that have is because you we're just using a 4x6 photograph since your graphic design skills are in the early stages. What you could try is tiling the one photo three times. If you use the one you're currently using I would put a black border/spacer line in between so the leg doesn't run into the belly in a weird way. What I think might work best would be to crop off most of the top of the picture and then it can be bigger. You can leave the tag line where it is and then move the title to the bottom left of the picture. I like the lacy undies you used to convey sexiness but if you have something similar in darker color or at least not pink, the contrast would look nice.
Which ever program you are using, if you're not using online video tutorials to help you, you are missing out! Google or go on youtube and look up video tutorials and there are endless amounts of them.

Permalink Reply by Berrak Sarikaya on March 4, 2011 at 7:05pm I went through a few header/blog designs before I made one that I fell in love with (And honestly, it could change 2 months from now). Since it's a personal blog, it had to be something that was reflective of me, but I didn't want to have my own face in the banner.
So I went with a graphic I'd been using for a few years, and altered it a little. It's just about what you want your blog to reflect and how you can get it to reflect all of you.
