20 Something Bloggers

The Bloggers With The Most To Say

At first when I started my blog, I did it because I enjoy writing and taking pictures.  I thought this would be the perfect way to share these things with others and also keep a journal for myself.  I had also found several blogs that I enjoyed reading on a regular basis.  That was basically it.

Now that I have became an active blogger (just about two months now), I have discoverd that the blogging community is pretty awesome.  It has turned out to be sort of an online family to me.

Everyday I get excited to update my blog and read the feedback from my readers; I find their kind words and input so helpful and encouraging.  And I love all the great ideas and inspiration I get from reading other blogs.  Blogging has truly become more than just a hobby for me, it now has a permanent place in my lifestyle.  I just love it.

I also think that this site, 20sb, has played a big part in me becoming more active in the blogging world.  It has introduced me to a lot of awesome bloggers.

I am intrested in getting feedback about this.  What do you think about the blogging community? Have you had positive or negative experieces?

I look forward to hearing what you think!

That's awesome. I'm glad you've had a similar experience - minus the e-drama :)
I've seen something else of mine grow to an enormous size since the early 2000s.

I'm really sorry...you set me up way too well for that one. Don't hate me.
E-drama is hella lame, but I've definitely come across it in different communities. It's amazing the stuff people say when behind a computer screen. I haven't seen much of it here, but it's ALL over Yelp. People here are pretty respectful.

It looks like you are a pretty new blogger, so don't get yourself down about not having a lot of followers. It really is important that you write your blog for yourself and have it be a representation of you. Don't get bogged down by making it about popularity. Your blog looks great! I would say try to maybe include some pictures sometimes. I seem to always be drawn to blogs that not only have interesting writing, but also great photos.
I have found that adding pictures and labels to my posts has helped my site get more hits. People like to look at photos, especially photos you take yourself!
Sami, I love your blog....but you already know that! ;)
I've had nothing but positivity, so as a result I started pitching in to the admin side of things (that's what the little bubbles on some users' avatars mean).

At first, you treat everyone like "friends from the internet," until later on, when meetups are arranged and you realize you've been reading about peoples lives for years (YEARS! Holy crap!) the line between "internet friend" and "real life friend" is completely blurred.

I made friends from being a blogger. And that is profound.
I love what you wrote.

It's so true, sometimes it's easy to think of other people's blogs the same as you would think of a t.v. show or something, but in reality it is their real life that they are sharing. I think it's pretty awesome. Like I say on my profile, my blog is like my reality t.v. show. haha
The blogging community is fixated on getting subscribers and followers. Don't get me wrong, I am too, but it's a little too, y'know high school. Popularity, who's cool, who has the most friends. Some guy sent me a message the other day asking me if I've checked out this other guy's website. Immediately thought he was a tool
I love the blogger community; as you say it is like a family - but that you can choose ;)

Plus you get to connect with awesome people you may have never had the chance to even say hello to in real life...and you might even get to meet them if everything feels right. I would love to do a blogger meet up, and i see that a few people are already doing them so why not?

It is definitely an enriching experience - on a personal level (i am very happy since ive been blogging lol) and on more general level : you get to be creative, have fun and share experiences which may help others!

I love it so much that i am installing a forum on my blog ^^ Yes i am a geek!

I love the blogging community.
I love reading about people's lives and sharing about mine.
I love leaving feedback for others and reading their feedback to me.

It's a new world for me and I love everyone I'm meeting.
I feel exactly the same way as you.

I started blogging on OpenDiary.com back when blogging really wasn't a word. I did it as a way to have an online diary. Every now and again I'd get comments on my entries but I certainly wasn't out to be part of any kind of community.

After a year or two on OD I switched over to Blogger. For quite some time I still only blogged as a diary - some of my in real life friends read my blog but I never even thought about anyone in cyberspace reading.

I've really only been part of the blog community for about a year and a half and I LOVE it. I've lost a lot of friends over the last few years and I've found that through this community I've found people that I'm quickly becoming friends with and have things in common with. I'm actually hosting a blog get together next month and I'm so excited to meet some new people.

I feel really lucky to have found this community and to have met the people I've met through it.
