What a great topic, I can't wait to start reading some replies because I am also wallowing in boredom.
Boredom? I miss being bored. My boredom was overcome by having a baby. I dont suggest it for others :-)
heheh that's funny britanny. im bored but i don;t want to be so busy as well, as i can imagine with having a baby.
Through boredom (and loneliness in a new big city - NYC) I ended up becoming a really involved volunteer! I filled up my time doing projects I was interested in and made new friends :)
i tried volunteering as well but i got fed up of it after a while. not my crowd and certainly not my type of people to help. i dont believe someone in the netherlands can be as poor unless they are too lazy. thanks for replying.
When I'm bored I write, read or go for a run. My life is so very busy I actually revel in feeling bored. It's like an enforced period of calm before the squall of work is whipped up again.
hi duke, im a writer by profession and when im bored, usually my writing is affected. i couldn't write about boredom all the time. i havent tried running though.
Honestly, if I'm really really bored, I just end up walking all by myself around my neighborhood and then just thinking of one fun thing I can do to put a smile on my face. Usually this is watching a comedian online, writing about one goal I would love to achieve in my life, and even reading spiritual books or books about people and how they've changed the world gets my mind out of that lull. I had a big lull today and didn't feel like doing much, so it's a tough situation to be in.
sleep..get bored only when theres nothing to do
actually, among all the suggestions, your's is what i did most. i slept for the whole day, waking up probably on a couple of hours to eat and then sleep again. unfortunately, it didnt cure the boredom so i got up and started reading, non stop.
i finish one movie, the girl with a pearl earring. yeah, it did cure the boredom for the entire duration of the movie. not for the whole 24 hours. but it did help.
Surf the 20SB forums of course, duh! ;)
