This is a neat writing project I found in a book by Melody Beattie. It takes a bit of introspection.
I'm in the middle of writing mine but I'm curious as to what other people would express on their own. It doesn't have to be extreme..I know mine won't be. Here's the basic idea:
Before you can do anything amazing like fly solo, go on whitewater rafting, climb a dangerous mountain on horses, make a bungee jump...you sign this thing called a waiver.
A waiver is a document that says that you realize the dangers in what you're about to do, that you and you alone have made the decision to participate in the risk, and that you and you alone are responsible for the outcome.
You sign away your right to sue or complain or ask for a refund in order to risk your life for a new experience, figuratively and literally. It's a good reminder you make your own decisions and you're the one who lives by the results of those choices each day.
I've yet to make a true contract with myself. If you had to write a permanent waiver, what would you put on it?!?
cool and thought provoking,hm :) love the topics you post...will pop in later with my own-or if I'm too lazy to look at others'.I'm not an inspiration.Sighs.lol
