Anyone getting hit? I live in Philadelphia and we're going to start feeling it tonight until the end of Tuesday. I hope everyone will stay safe!

I'm joking, mostly because I wasn't even in town when the rain was here.
Stay safe kids!
Permalink Reply by Erini CS on October 29, 2012 at 9:50pm I think it's crazy we're feeling (minor) effects here in Chicago! We've got a flood warning along the lake. Sort of weird to come home to a notice from the alderman in my building about flooding and safety—the lake's at the end of my block. Haven't heard if they've closed Lakeshore Drive yet... waves were big, but not too crazy today, supposedly going to be worse tomorrow.
Fingers crossed for east coast folks! My cousin in brooklyn just told me the subways are flooding and will be shut down for maybe a week.
Permalink Reply by Nagehan on October 30, 2012 at 1:50pm Yes! Transportation in nyc is paralyzed. I was supposed to travel there Monday to teach. Obviously I didn't, but I'm not sure how people living there will get around. I mean, having lived in Manhattan, it's impossible to get around without the subways. Taxis are scarce when it's raining or during times like this.
Permalink Reply by Delightfully Awkward Brittany on October 30, 2012 at 10:13am Here in NC it's been pretty mild actually, just some cold/wet/windy days but nothing crazy (at least that I've heard of). Sandy hit landfall further north, seeing some pretty freaky pictures from NY & NJ. Power outages are being reported from VA up, but some in the more southern areas have been restored already.
I'm in MA, we got a lot of wind and the power knocked out but compared to everyone else we got nothing. Hopefully everyone is ok.
Permalink Reply by Brandi Bailey on October 30, 2012 at 1:38pm Richmond was supposed to get hit a lot worse that it was. The winds thankfully got downgraded or else we may have lost power. As it is, we were all over prepared, which is way better than not at all I suppose.
