The Bloggers With The Most To Say

If you can talk to yourself 10 years ago, what would you say?

I just did a blog/vlog of what I would say to myself 10 years ago. I was wondering what you would say.

I could think of a ton, but I'm just going to do 3 - on life, love and death.

----------------------------------------------------------

Stop worrying about not knowing what you want to do with your life. LOTS of people your age don't have a clue either. Relax, in due time you'll figure it out. And don't listen to all the negativity - you won't be the dumb meathead jock that they think you will turn out to be. You will prove them all wrong, in drastic fashion!

Stay away from that girl! Far, FAR AWAY! I can't stress that enough! You can NOT help her. She has issues, seriously, mental issues. You are not Superman and you cannot "save" nor "fix" her, no matter how much you want to or believe you can. Your actions to do so will be unappreciated and in the end, she will only bring you down with her and drive YOU crazy! She will stalk you for years to come and make your life a living hell! Now do you really want that? Turn and walk away now.

Make an effort to tell the people you care about that you love them. They will be gone before you know it and by then it will be too late. You won't want to carry that regret with you. Trust me.

Wow this is a great topic.

I would tell the me 10 years ago that I should slow down and enjoy things as they come. Don't be so focused on work and your job. Take some time to slow down and act your age. Do dumb things! Oh and be more adventurous and spontaneous.

Can I go back 11.5 instead?

Do not go out with him.
In fact, don't date at all til you are 16, 17 preferably. Wait. It's worth it.
And, meet M sooner. It'll make it all easier.

you can go back as far as you want...well as long as you're more than a figment of your parents' imagination

So 10 years ago was 12, but I think I'm going to do 13-14 instead...

Seriously, Jess. Boys are not worth this much crap. Stop starving yourself. Stop thinking about hurting yourself. Stop thinking that you're not good enough or pretty enough or deserving enough. You are already beautiful, and you're just going to get more so, and if you give it a little while and stop worrying about it, someone is going to come along and show (and tell) you just how beautiful you are. And you may not believe him at first, but then you'll look in the mirror every morning and you'll gradually see what he's talking about.
The road you're on is going to be a bumpy one. As they said in Dead Like Me (I know, you've never heard of it, but it's a great show) "there ain't no sugar coatin' that turd." There's going to be quite a bit of heartache -- and it's going to hurt a lot more than it does right now -- but then you'll find yourself in a beautiful city, in a cute little apartment, with a handsome and loving boyfriend, a great job and a pretty stellar figure, and everything that you're feeling right now will feel so insignificant. It'll all just melt away.
Also... even though she gets on your nerves, she's still your mother. She'll always get on your nerves a little, because that's just how she is. But she's still your mother. She will still calm you down -- and order you to get a wet washcloth to wipe your face off -- when you have a big fight with your boyfriend (he may be wonderful, but no one's perfect, let him be imperfect). She will cry every time she has to see you walk into an airport to fly hundreds of miles away from her. She loves you, and she always will. Don't forget that.

I might end up expanding on this for my next blog entry... this is pretty fun... :B
