If you could pack up and go somewhere next week, where would you go? Why?
Would you want to live there or just visit? I recently moved from New York city to a Caribbean island for a few months, and now I'm thinking of what could be next...it's overwhelming. I need new ideas, and I'm curious as to what attracts other people to a place.
So if you could go and live anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I think if I could choose anywhere I would stay in Canada, but move from Winnipeg to Montreal. There's just something about that city that pulls me in and makes me never want to leave.
I would love to live in Europe. I am a huge history junkie so I would love that. Probably London, just because it's an English-speaking country. But I also loved Paris, and that's a bit more central to other countries.

Right now my top 5 places are:
1. Austin - unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that there is no big bioengineering industry in the area so it would be hard for me to get work.
2. Brisbane, Australia - I lived there during a study abroad and absolutely loved the city. They have a Tech school so I'm thinking there may be jobs open there??? Coincidentally I'm wearing my UQ t-shirt today.
3. Southern California - The heart of bioengineering in the US and fantastic climate.
4. Atlanta - I lived there for 5 years and would not have moved back if it weren't for financial reasons. I love it there, my wife loves it there and it's easier to network through Georgia Tech there than here (Chicago burbs).
5. Wales - I have a half-uncle who works at a university as a biomedical engineer. I've been to England and Ireland. I think Wales would be an awesome place to live.
France! I love just about everything about it. I'm in my third semester of French, and moving there would make learning the language so much easier. I definitely want to move there, at least for a year! I want to live in the city for awhile, and then experience the countryside.
The Amalfi Coast, as someone already mentioned, Costa Rica — the coast, probably the west coast, or back to Tasmania where I grew up. This continual Mid-Atlantic snow barrage is getting on my nerves.
I'd go anywhere in the UK... For as long as I remember, I've always wanted to live there, so it would be a dream come true if I actually did. Looking at how things are, I don't think I will be able to.
There's Australia as a second option: that's more likely, somehow, seeing as how their Skilled Migration List includes my future profession. :)
New Zealand will be my third choice: I love that there are only about 4 million people there. I'm not a very big fan of crowds, though I love bustling cities - does that sound weird or what? LOL.
Anywhere in Europe would be great, though... That'd be a nice experience.
