Hello. I'm new to this site and I was wondering about the best way to start networking and meeting people? I didn't want to just start spamming people with friend requests.

I love humor and the outdoors (when it's summer! ha!) and in sports my fave is volleyball or swimming! :)

I guess the best way is to just participate in the forum .. check out other people's blogs and get to know them that way!

I think it's all about engaging with others. That can take a while to develop (I'm working on that myself).
The key is establishing some connections and relationships with people.
It deals with quality of posts and comments that sparks interests--not just random jabs.
I have to say, it's daunting to join up with 20sb and see this buzzing network.
You're kind of left wondering "how do I become a part of this?" People are nominating each other for awards and to be featured bloggers. It's intimidating to know there's that level of "popularity" within the community. I think that's why people want to hit the bat running and have the largest audience possible. I want to be a part of the buzz!
This network allows for that, but it takes time. I joined 20sb about a year ago and was active for about a month. It was fun, but then school got in the way. Now I'm eager to re-engage.

Hello! The best way to network is, of course, to participate in the forums and discussions. It's also great to check out random 20SB members' blogs to find ones that you like to read. Make sure to leave comments on their blogs! Pretty soon they'll probably start reading yours too :). Oh, and mention that you found their blog on 20SB ... it definitely helps!
