The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I am an internet radio DJ and was wondering how many people actually like to listen to internet radio when they are blogging or twittering or doing whatever? I hear that it's taking over, and my former co-workers in regular radio are all turning to the internet now.

So enlighten me from a non-radio perspective please...

i do, what kinda stuff dya play?

I think people like themed stations - Like there's an R&B station I've forgotten the URL of, and I used to listen to Kerrang a lot.

(not entirely non-radio perspective, as i've worked with two small stations in the past, but nothing serious!)
Well I work for a station that has two channels. one is alternative and they play an eclectic mix of stuff and the other channel is the one that I am on where they have DJs from all over the world just do whatever they want. I tend to play hard rock and punk, and will soon be featuring smaller bands who are rising up.

That's a good point, that people want to have a themed station... I think that's why they added the second channel at my station.
you had me at hard rock. :)

link me!
Mostly, I'll listen to a live feed of a station I know and love...

I used to work for 91.1 FM The Globe... On-Air talent and their former Production Director... so if I'm not going to use my iTunes or LastFM, I'll probably have their feed up.

I just haven't gotten into internet radio... maybe someday... I guess I'll have to dabble. But since I haven't had much experience in it, it's one of those "where do I find what I want to listen to" situations... So I guess if I spent some time searching for stations, I might tune in some... but for now I'll stick with what I've got...

Though I will say I have sort of wanted to look into what I'd need to do to start up my own internet station...
You can start one at shoutcast.com. That would be cool, let me know if you end up doing it!
The closest thing to Internet radio I listen to is Pandora, and clearly that's not the same at all. Then again, I really only listen to the radio in the car if I'm not feeling one of my CDs (yes, I still own and purchase CDs) or my IPod.

I guess if I discovered an Internet radio station I loved, I'd listen at work, but I've never really explored it beforehand. To be honest, I haven't heard much concerning the popularity of Internet radio whatsoever, although this is the second time this week I've heard it mentioned, so maybe I'm just out of the loop on this one.
I'll listen to XM's free AOL Radio player every now and then.
