The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I was asked on formspring if I thought Christmas was too commercialized nowadays. I wrote a post on it here (http://www.nesheaholic.com/2010/12/christmas-and-commercialization.... )
My basic answer was yes, it is as commercialized as everything else in this world, but it is our responsibility as consumers to uphold our own meanings of Christmas.
What do you think? Is Christmas too commercialized? Should that even matter/influence how we as individuals celebrate our Christmas?

I have a great skill of blocking that kind of stuff away because I hate shopping anyway, don't watch TV and its awful Christmas advertising nearly at all anymore and can easily find alternative radio channels that don't play that junk! Life has so many more interesting things than those commercial "this is the only right way to be" channels for me :D
At Christmas I just travel to the countryside miles away from the nearest shops and just eat and enjoy the great company, holidays and the beautiful snowy surroundings. We don't give gifts if small practical things such as wooly socks doesn't count.
Of course everybody makes their own decision on how to spend their Christmas but I'd hope that people would really start to think their consumption patterns and how they affect on us and the world in the long run.
