The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Akismet protects my blog and all Wordpress blogs from spam.  The thing is; I'm pretty sure that it's just deleting comments from legitimate users.  It won't even let me moderate them, it just gets rid of them so I can never check to see who they were sent by.  Does anyone know of a way to stop this?? x

Anyone..? Anyone at all..?
Assuming that you are on a self-hosted Wordpress.org site, this is how you do it:

Dashboard -> Plugins -> find the Akismet plugin, check the box next to it and then click deactivate.

As for a Wordpress.com subdomain blog...it might be the same thing, or not. I really don't know.
I have akismet and I think it works great. I've only had it mark legitimate comments as spam a couple times. It should let you moderate them. If you go to the spam folder, you can approve comments marked as spam from there.
Not if you are using the free version. You can delete the plugin if it's self hosted.

Go to settings, then discussion and check "Don’t discard spam on old posts". If that is checked it should not delete them.
