The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Do the people on your life know you blog? Do they read it?
My boyfriend and my cousin are the only two people in my life who read my blog. It's not that I'm hiding the stuff that I write about, because it's not scandalous or anything...what I'm really hiding is the fact I have a blog...people just don't do that 'round these parts!

If your blog is a secret too, why is it?

This blog is secret. This blog is not. For obvious reasons. Some family members and friends know about the first blog and only a few of them actually read it. But it's just way too personal and I let out way too much information. Some people wouldn't understand and I'm not about to face their judgment, either. Someday, maybe, I'll make it public but there's no need at the moment.
Only my best friend knows about my blog. I like the idea of being able to write what I want without worrying about what people I know will think of it. It's also why I don't have any pictures of myself on my blog.
see, i like having a blog that my friends/fam can read, but i also would like to have one where i could be more open about stuff. but i already have 2 blogs to keep track of lol
Not as much as I wish it was. First of all and ex found it even though I changed the URL after taking a year off. Then my uncle mentioned it. Now I've come to terms with the fact that people know I blog (couldn't help them knowing that!) and they can find it if they really want to.

The thing I really have learned: Non-bloggers generally really don't care. Regardless. Which is a bit of a phenomenon to me, but beneficial all at once.

I keep it low profile to real lifers simply because I feel it gives me a lot more freedom with my writing. I also appreciate that all my readers have chosen to read for outside reasons.
I agree - it's harder to be candid in your writing if people who really know you read it.
Not at all, although I have an alias for writing which helps with my profession. But I agree with Kris not many people care.
I have a secret one. My whole family knows about my regular blog. It gets discussed at almost every family function.
It's not exactly a secret, but it's not exactly "out there" to my friends. I posted the link on my facebook, but I don't think anyone really saw it. Well maybe a couple of people, but I definitely don't update my status everytime I post something!

My boyfriend saw it once right after I started it. He kinda chuckled a bit and changed the subject. So I think he's a lost cause as being a faithful reader! I think my horse blog is a bit more understandable to people so I try and tell them about that one. My parents DEFINITELY don't know. Both of them made me delete my myspace when I was 16. So blogs aren't on their top 10 favorite things list!

I had initially put the link on facebook, but I was so scared, so I took it off.. My boyfriend chuckled at my blog at first too! But now he says he's very impressed, and he actually reads it every day without me making him (which I used to do haha)...and I'm with you on the parents thing...my dad saw I had a blog last year and I got lectured about the dangers of the internet :/
I don't keep it a secret, but I happen to have a lot of non-internet-type friends. Very few of my friends read blogs or maintain an internet-based life aside from e-mail and Facebook. They don't care to read blogs or anything like that, so...they don't read mine. I mention mine on occasion, but I don't make it something they need to read. Five of my friends to my knowledge go to my blog at all, and only 3 on a sort of regular basis.

The only people I do keep it a sort of secret from are my family. They all know about it (since I live at home, it's hard to hide), but I don't let them know where it specifically is located. I don't have anything particularly scandalous or juicy, it's just...I write much more honestly than I share with them, and I feel weird about them knowing so much truth to me.
I have mentioned it to my family a couple of times, but nobody has asked me to read it....they're not exactly the internet types anyway! My boyfriend has looked at it and thinks it's a good idea for me to get some feelings out and do what I love the most - writing. Haven't talked about it with my friends, not sure if I ever will... It's not that I want to hide it or that they might find what I write offensive, but I suppose I'm not ready yet to face their judgement... It's much easier to take criticism from strangers, especially where you're still at the beginning! ;)
Yes! I feel you on the strangers part.....I'd rather have someone I don't know tell me they hate my blog than someone who I see every day. I think if you blog, no matter what you blog about, you're putting a piece of yourself out there...and I know I'd be crushed if someone close to me didn't like it.
