The Bloggers With The Most To Say
when I was a child, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut....oh well,it turned to something quite different. What about you?
Permalink Reply by Gina on January 6, 2012 at 10:50am It's funny, but I always wanted to be a mom. Even as a teenager, that's what I wanted. But, I knew that wasn't really an acceptable answer, so, in my head I'd say, "I want to be a mom." but out loud, I would give a fake, but more socially acceptable answer.
As a result of the fakeness, my heart was never really in my answers, and so they changed constantly, based on who I was talking to and whether or not I was currently in a job interview. I told people I wanted to be a lawyer and a doctor and model and a teacher and a professional jazz saxophonist and an interior designer. Then my first real job was in banking, so all my answers were in that realm: I want to be a quality control analyst, a market support consultant, a personal banking onboarding specialist, a market president, etc, etc, etc.
I told those lies up until the day I finally quit my job to be a stay-at-home-mom. I'm pretty sure that this whole subject is the only thing I've ever lied about consistently in my entire life.
I dreamt of being a doctor. I like helping people and hate seeing them in pain. I still like helping people but when I got into high school, realized going to college would take a long time. I also discovered I liked to cook a lot AND was good at is. So, I became a chef! :D
