The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm not sure if there's a similar thread somewhere but I feel it's a darn popular one and I felt like ranting.  There have been some blogs that look interesting at first glance but then you notice other stuff.  Annoying stuff.  Like small font size.  Will I be right in saying that most of us use a widescreen monitor nowadays?  It's not that hard to increase your font size when you're blogging.

It's an eyesore when you need to squint or come close to your screen so that you can read a blog post!  It's very very annoying.

I have more pet peeves but small fonts are turning me off from reading or subscribing a/to a blog.

Does it bug you too?

i''ve never really come across a blog with small font size, but one of my pet peeves is definitely when music starts playing out of nowhere..then you have to hurry to turn down/off your volume or search the page to see where it's coming from...and it always scares me too!! lol
I absolutely HATE imbedded music. I will immediately leave your page if music automatically starts playing. Ack.
I definetely get turned off by blogs with too much clutter. It makes me feel overwhelmed, like I have to visit every little link, page, button, and who knows what else to fully understand the blog itself. Simplicity is key for me when it comes to enjoying a blog. One of the best blog set-ups I've seen is "The Rest is Still Unwritten" (who's no longer an active blogger unfortunately though he still has his blog up and he's a member of this site) - he has a lot of information but it's set up in such a concise and simple way that it doesn't feel overwhelming but at the same time you can get to know his five-year blog pretty easily even if you're a new reader. It's important to only add the things that are necessary, if a blog begins to get messy, stuff needs to be deleted.
I agree, background music is so so annoying.

I also do not like super crazy backgrounds. They hurt my eyes!

Also, good grammar for me, is a must. And capitalization.
MUSIC ON AUTOPLAY!! If you want to have a playlist up, that's fine. But holy shit, if your music starts playing over my music without my consent, we're going to have a problem.
1) Big fonts annoy me more than small.

2) Music is the biggest annoyance. I've usually got music playing, and open loads of blogs at once and work through them throughout the day, so it's really annoying if one plays music and I have to figure out how.

3) Badly structured posts. I don't like it if part way don't I don't see where it is going, and then it suddenly changes pace or topic.

4) Bad use of English. I'm not a grammar nazi, but stay consistent (and preferably consistently good).

5) Long blocks of text, without any visual aid.

6) Loads and loads of gadget things on the side. They just aren't nice to look at, and possibly say something about your over-all style.
I personally don't like blogs that don't let you a post your URL in the comment section. I notice this with blogger a lot. I like to read blogs but I also like to promote my own blog, Living with Balls
If I'm correct, I think for links in the comments section in Blogger, you need to use the < a > tags...with no space in between of course...
Auto-play music for sure. Almost everything else I can live with.
I prefer very simple blogs, nothing too flashy. But so long as it doesn't start blaring music at me, I'm usually okay.
I agree with too-long paragraphs and distracting backgrounds. I think those are the worst.

I definitely gravitate more toward clean lines and words that are broken up by photos.
