The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Anyone here into Lomography and/or registered on their site?

I'm really into the authentic vintage look.  I had been camera shopping for a few months debating between an old Leica M3 and other cameras.  I finally bought a Diana F+.  What I dislike about digital photography is that it's so dispensable and I by no means am a photographer or know much of anything about it so I suppose the Diana results will be a good excuse when the photos turn out crappy.

I bought my boyfriend an Oktomat for his birthday earlier this year, and we've both had so much fun playing with it. It's an 8-frame exposure which is really neat. Not registered on the site, though.

Sinc then, I've gotten more into photography. I found my stepdad's 1975 Minolta SRT-202 and have taken some amazing "vintage"-looking photos with it. Also discovered we have a polaroid! Those are always fun, but the film's pretty expensive.
Hah, I bought the black jack as well. I got the 35mm back so I can utilize wal-marts 1 hour photo. There's three or four places in Omaha that develop 120mm film but its too expensive compared to the 35mm. I was considering doing the developing myself but I'm too lazy. I will probably buy a film scanner for Christmas to make the whole process as cheap as possible.
I bought a lomography camera this last summer. I had been browsing in Urban Outfitters and saw a couple different varieties but knew that I could find one on ebay cheaper-and I did. Mine's a Holga 135BC. The only downside with returning to 35mm is that I am much more stingy with what I take photos of, and as a result still haven't taken enough photos to develop the roll I started this summer :(

But DID YOU KNOW, if you have an iPhone or Droid compatible phone there is an amazing app called "Retro Camera"? I use it instead of the regular camera on my phone. Here's an example of what I took this last weekend:

I highly recommend it for when you're on the go and still want that vintage feel.
Hey, I would love to know more about vintage photography. And Anthony I know you are quite the artist. Some examples of your work? I'm a little bummed that the shot above was taken with an Iphone. More photos, more photos!
I've shot a few rolls since I got my camera the other week and as soon as I develop them I'll share with you. :)

Here's my page: http://www.lomography.com/homes/anthonylicari -- I've favorited a few photos but it's mostly female faces. When I've scanned in my photos and uploaded them, I'll let you know. You should browse the galleries on that site though. There's lots of cool stuff.

Another cool thing aside from the photos telling you what camera was used is that if you browse cameras to purchase they show you the reverse of photos that were taken with it. Like how the Diana F+ has lots of dreamy looking photos so you can kind of preview what you're buying.
