I have been blogging for some time now (2 years) and I cannot seem to get over 20 followers. In fact this weekend while out of town I did not get the chance to see if by some miracle there were some newbies on my blog, so this morning I log in and low and behold I LOST ONE!
I was at 19 now its 18....
I mean what the hell is that?
Maybe I am to much for some people. They can't seem to handle me.
QUESTION HERE IS: Does it get you angry and/or sad losing a follower(s)?
It gets me angry not losing one but the fact that I cannot make that number go above the 19 mark. What a shame!
I totally know what you mean, everytime I don't post over the weekend my hits take a huge nose dive! But the way I see it's like a rollercoaster... sometimes you're up- sometimes you're down. You just gotta keep blogging and roll with the punches. :) Good luck!
It pisses me off when someone unfollows me. Especially because I sometimes make deals with people here on 20sb that I will follow them if they'll follow me. I get mad because if it is one of them then they aren't holding up their end of the bargain and I can't figure out who the heck it is so I can't unfollow them back. Its so annoying.
haha. I make no deals. Thing is what did I do? Well I guess they don't deserve to be there anyway...right? It is annoying that I don't know who the 19th person who quit me was.
Question. What if the person doesn't read your blog? I'm not going to lie it stinks when someone unfollows you, but if they aren't reading my blog I am not sure if I would want them included in the number of followers (even though many want bigger numbers). It is frustrating though when you do the whole I'll follow you if you follow me and then they don't. Feels like trickery. Thoughts?
If they do not read then why follow in the first place? I myself do not follow unless I actually read these blogs. There is no point in following unless you read my crap. This should be RULE #1 in this blog world. I understand that numbers are great. 20 is not a high number I just want to reach it. Do you not follow this rule Heather?
Geez now I am going to cry like a lil bitch because of one stupid person that did not want me to reach 20!!!! UGH
My thinking on that was what if you follow a blog you like and then after awhile you find yourself not reading it anymore. Do you keep following even though you no longer read it? I COMPLETELY agree you shouldn't follow a blog you're not going to read. Just wondering what to do if you no longer read a blog you follow.
I totally get wanting to get to a certain number. Whenever I gain a follower I get excited that somebody new connects with what I write. :)
I actually go through them periodically and delete the ones that got boring or that I know I wont miss.
I try to keep mine constant. I will not follow unless I like.
I agree with you. I unfollow blogs if I find myself never interested in their posts and skipping over them. Why waste my time? I don't make "you follow me, I follow you" comments or promises. It makes me a little sad when someone unfollows me but it doesn't happen that often. I don't blog for followers so it doesn't bother me too much.

hilarious - and I totally agree, if you're losing followers, you should probably take a look at your blog and ask, why would someone want to stop reading?
I haven't noticed any follower loss, but I have noticed having way less hits, and zero comments on my weekend posts.
I think if you're less invested in the followers/hits/comments etc. it makes blogging more fun. Good luck on your follower consistency!! :)
