The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Since the spring is coming up (or at least I am wishing it to in my brain...), I just wanted to know some opinions about waxing, you know... down there. I am a total chicken shit when it comes to pain! The most I have every did is wax my eye brows because it is faster than tweezing & threading. I call myself picking the lesser of the two evils. Let's discuss..

Does it hurt? Is there a way to make it hurt less? Any tips on how to prepare myself? Your experience? Did you feel embarassed? Some stranger looking down your vaginal canal? lol ok maybe not that extreme but give me details! How do you feel about using tanning beds?

Ok I don't carry much of an opinion on waxing your lady-bits. Tried it once, its not for me though I will say that it hurts like a bitch, there is really no way to make it hurt any less, you just have to grit your teeth and deal. I didn't feel embarrassed at all, they didn't go anywhere near the actual vagina so "looking up" wasn't really a issue.

On the tanning beds, just say no. They are terrible for you, and as we all know give you the nasty cancer. Plus I have a personal belief that everyone looks best with their natural skin tone tanning at best makes you look a bit fake at worst it makes you look like you rolled in a bag of Doritos.

I'm assuming you want a full Brazilian?

Never done it. Have no desire. In my group of friends, I'm the only one keeping a lady jungle these days. But damn, that shit is there for a reason! It signifies sexual maturity and protects your sensitive bits from...abrasion. I'm also super prone to ingrown hairs and I do not want that shit all over my labia. I also think that the popularity of ripping out pubic hair has probably influenced the trend in cosmetic vagina surgeries. If you can't see that shit, you can't be self-conscious!

I have, however, used an epilator on my bikini line because I was sick of having to continually shave and deal with razor burn. It definitely hurt, but I think it balances out by removing the irritation of razor burn every other day.

Anyway, do whatever you want with your vagina and skin. If you have access to some painkillers, that might make it better, and even fun, but I give terrible advice, so don't listen to me.

My mom had it done for a while. Her experience was: Rashes, bumps, and let's not forget tons of nasty ingrowns.

Needless to say she said 'eff that' and went back to shaving after I hooked her up with Coochy Creme,

What is coochy creme? lol sounds funny.

It's just the name :) It's actually a damn awesome shaving creme.

I attempted it once myself.  Never ever doing it again.  Hurts like hell, it turns all red and even bleeds a little.  And doing it yourself is even harder as inflicting pain on yourself and just continuing is not easy.  I had a tiny square smooth patch for a good week.  Not worth it! Razor all the way.

Having a stranger do it is probably the best way to go if you want to do it.  As they will just keep going as you squeel and at least it'll look good.  A lot of people get razor burn though, especially in the beginning.

As for tanning beds, with all the cancer going around I would never consider doing it.  Even though I'm very pale.  Besides, I don't really tan anyway, just go red.  And due to my very pale skin I have a higher risk of getting skin cancer, so I'm not risking it for a possibly slightly less pale skin.  I'd say the fake one is probably healthier if you truly can't be happy with your natural skin tone, or lie out in the sun for a little while, with a low factor sunblock, to get a natural tan.

I get waxed. I get as much body hair waxed as possible.

So, your answers:

The hood hurts the most, like seriously ima-groan-like-a-mofo-when-you-rip-that hurt. But then it's gone and it's nice.

Prepare yourself by trimming - the less longer the hair the better as it doesn't take as long plus they can actually see your hair growth patterns.

I don't believe any of my waxers have seen down my "vaginal canal". I am one of the helpful clients, I'll help hold the skin to make it tighter so they can concentrate on the ripping part, or put my legs in positions to help them get full access (makes it go a whole lot quicker if you can assist rather than try and keep your legs closed). I also like to chat and make a personal connection with them so if there is something odd about me down there then they may feel guilty about running around telling every man and his dog. It also helps me feel comfortable with them - the few I couldn't connect with I didn't return to because I felt no trust in them, they also turned out to be some of not so good wax jobs I've had.

My sister is a beauty therapist and here's what she's said that helps me when I meet a new waxer:

  • All we see is the hair, we're not looking at your bits
  • If you're dirty down there that is disrespectful to us (her stories are hilarious, yet horrific)
  • Go to the bathroom well beforehand
  • Relax and go with it

Upkeep is easy, gentle exfoliation and daily moisturising will help lessen ingrown hairs.

I don't mind tanning beds, I prefer them over horrendous spray tans. Plus you have to be smart with them, don't go and jump in one on the highest level for 15 minutes and think that's a "safe" way to tan. Buy a tanning accelerator lotion and start off slow and steady.

Good luck!

I do it every once in a while. Going to the salon is kind of relaxing for me... until I hear that first rip. It's really not that bad, but then again I'm covered in tattoos so I have a special relationship with pain.

My palsm gets really sweaty when I'm getting waxed, and the pain is sharp, but brief. As for the stranger aspect, I chat with the lady who's waxing me to make it feel less awkward. We usually get into a deep conversation and before I know it the wax is over.

Good luck!

I don't think it's that bad.  I mean, it isn't the most pleasant experience. Also, no one is looking down your vaginal canal, it's not a yearly check up, it's a wax -- Not to mention, it's ten times better than having a bush under your bathing suit.

As for tanning? Just say no.

I talk more about it on my blog http://bit.ly/A3GhZM

It hurts like they are sticking a million pins on your hooohaa! Seriously. It's a motherflippin bitch.  I think guys should get their below the peanut parts waxed to appreciate the grooming we feel like we should keep up with.

I seriously doubt that guys can tolerate that kind of pain! They are pansys lol Girl POWER! What if they did get their sack waxed? I'd like to see that one day to see how load they yell!
