Anyone here currently enrolled in Med School or has taken/will take the MCATs in the coming year?
I've been toying with the idea of a career in medicine for a few years now and would love to have someone with first hand accounts of the entire process.

My understanding is that there is a dearth of residencies, though there is a great need for physicians, especially anywhere that is not urban or of the socioeconomic areas.
I have one good friend finishing her medical school next May, she is basically never free...not free enough to blog even. She is hoping beyond hope to get a residency, but there is some truth - according to my aunt who is a physician and my cousin who is a orthopedic surgeon -.that there needs to be more medical schools in this country and more residencies, but also more doctors willing to go into general medicine.
That's all I know.
