The Bloggers With The Most To Say

So maybe I'm crazy but with all the hype about Michelle Obama's fashion I must admit that I have seen some less than flattering outfits on her. Maybe I am crazy. We're all young here and many members are interested in fashion. So I was just wondering HONESTLY what do people think because I feel some people's opinions have been influenced by politics.
p.s. posted a blog about this topic with pics if you want to look http://cityinternlife.blogspot.com/

I moved this on over to the Everything Else forum, FYI.

Also, I think Michelle Obama is very stylish and classy.
Thanks for moving it :) and the opinion.
I have a love/hate relationship with her fashion choices. I love the overall style- classic, tailored, uber Ralph Lauren. That being said, I don't think she always knows how to dress her shape in the most flattering way. Even when I'm not a fan of her outfits on her, I still think they're well put together. I just think there are times when she could do better than a boiled chiffon blouse that is draping all wrong. I prefer her in crisp well starched shirts, and I do love how she layers.

Hmm, does the above make me sound like a style stalker? I guess I could have just said, I dig her style. The end.
Haha no, I appreciate the critique.
I think she buys what is expensive, not what is necessarily classy. I mean half the time she looks like she's borrowing from Oprah's wardrobe. C'mon. For the amount of money she's spending on herself, she should fire her fashion adviser and get a new one. I wouldn't say her fashion is bad per se. It's just not flattering.
Sometimes I think she looks tasteless. Like, "department store chic" or something; just not stylish - especially in light of the fact that she is Michelle Obama! That said, I think she has more style than most first ladies, but I think that is also influenced by the fact that she is younger than Ms. Clinton or Bush.

Also, I'm not a fan of the constant sleevelessness. In my neck of the woods, that is really informal, unless it's summer. I know she has awesome guns and wants to show them off, but if anyone should dress formally, it is her.

I also would like to say that she is no Jackie O.
First off, what's with the cardigans?! I mean, I like cardigans as much as the next person but i cannot recall a single instance where she hasn't been wearing a cardigan or a terribly unflattering coat. And the pearls... they're so big they're obviously costume jewelry. I'd rather see understated, elegant but worthwhile pieces.

Really, I think she just tries way too hard and has a terrible stylist. She either looks much older than her years, or like mutton dressed as lamb. There's being conservative, and then there's being uniformed. She has a uniform- it has no personality, no originality, nothing that makes me gasp and think "oh wow." about. It all looks the same, all the time. Drab, and boring. The colors might be interesting, but that's about the only thing that's different.

Now, Carla Bruni.... Sarkozy's wife. THAT's a first lady with a sense of style. Then again, she's an Italian Supermodel too.
