The Bloggers With The Most To Say

That's it. My mom is on twitter. That was my mom-free-zone. Commiserate? Anybody else have someone following their every online move? Somebody who is a judgmental busybody?

This is why anonymous bloggers do what they do.

I'm so glad my mom thinks the internet is literally Satan incarnate and that my dad lives in such a rural area all he can get is dialup internet. It makes my online life a bit easier.

My mom is definitely young enough to use technology. She actually just got an iPhone, thus the need to install/sign up for the "cool" apps. Blerg.

It's not that my mom isn't young enough to use technology, it's that she has a religious vendetta against it.

Fair enough. Sorry to make the assumption that she was "out of touch." I know better, I promise.

No offense taken, I promise.

Excellent :)

Not on twitter, but my dad is on Facebook and so is my aunt and their political views are like completely opposite. So if I ever post something about that, I'm going to tick one of them off, depending on what I post.

Most of the time it's not too bad, but sometimes I really have to think like "Should I post this?" Because sometimes it's not worth the grief I would get from my family.

My family is on facebook- all of them. Great aunts and everybody. It's not quite so bad there, because I can block them from my feed and restrict their access to stuff without them knowing. But Twitter? If I block her, she won't be able to see me (one of the seven people she follows) anymore, and she'll know what's up.

My old blog that I had for a long while was stalked out by my mother via Google. I was horrified and shut it down. She has no idea about my current blog and I regularly Google myself only to ensure she can't find me.

Last time I was home she asked if I would add her as a friend if she got Facebook (which she never would because she thinks Facebook is the spawn of the Devil and whoever his dirty mistress may be) and I responded with a definite no. She looked offended and then became convinced that I am hiding another life from her.

I am pretty sure she Googled me right after I left the room.

That's pretty much the best thing I've heard all day.

Oh no! Maybe she is so new to it that she won't have any real idea how to use it for another month or two, giving you more time to build of a plan of defense.

She did send out only one tweet, two days ago, and I can tell her profile pic was taken with her phone, in her car, so there's certainly hope for her helplessness, for at least a little while.

However, I've been planning my defense of this (in case it should ever happen) for the last three years that I've been on twitter, and I've never come up with anything. I've always fallen back on, "Oh, well, she probably won't sign up anyway."

If you think of something useful, let me know.
