National Novel Writing Month?
I just signed up for NaNoWriMo for the first time and am wondering if anyone has in participated in the past or plans to write 50,000 words in 30 days this November.

I "participated" last year. My issue is that I have a hard time being "bad", so I couldn't bring myself to word vomit the nearly 2,000 words a day necessary to complete it. Three days of staring at an MS Word page with exactly 27 words on it lead me to realize that I was now about 5,000 words back on the challenge, and promptly gave up.
TLDR: Godspeed.

I did it last year. Didn't finish the 50,000 but I'm still working on the story I started. An awesome benefit: not everyone who wins wants their prizes... so I was still able to get the discount code for Scrivener. When it comes to story writing I love it so much more than a standard word processor like Word. You don't have to write the story in a linear order. It makes jumping from section to section, idea to idea, so much easier.
Since there's no way to make a 20SB group on the NaNoWriMo site, here's a NaNoWriMo group on 20SB! http://www.20sb.net/group/nanowrimo2010 (I know it says 2010 in the link, but I changed the group so it's all encompassing and we wouldn't need to have a new group every single year.)

HECK YES NANOWRIMO! This will be my 4th year doing it - and I'm so freaking excited!!!!!! I'm probably going to end up getting people guest blogging for me so I can focuson getting my 50k words though. We should all find ways to do word sprints and challenges and stuff together through the month. Through Twitter maybe?
