The Bloggers With The Most To Say

What do you do when you run out of things to talk about on your blog? This has been happening to me lately.. I find it harder and harder to think of things to say. I don't take tons of pictures, and I don't want every post to be..

"I went to Walmart. Then I got some McDonalds. I worked, then I read, then I went to sleep."

Because that's how many of my days go. So, what do you write about when you.. have nothing to write about? Any suggestions?

I'm more or less a pop culture blogger, so my advice is to read a book or watch a movie or listen to new music and write your thoughts about it. Sometimes it will give you insight on your own life, sometimes not, but either way you'll have something new to write about.

Just let it go with the flow. Creativity can never be forced. If your finding that you don't know what to talk about or running out of ideas, then I would simply not write for the day. Or the week. And besides, writing about your days at Walmart can be flavorful. Just let yourself get inspired, naturally. Happy Blogging:)

I think creativity can be forced, or at least encouraged. Professional writers have to do it all the time when they need to meet deadlines. A professor once told me that writer's block is just laziness that comes when creativity isn't easy. I kind of agree with him. Sitting down and writing anything, even if it doesn't feel "creative," will eventually give you ideas.

This is true. Stream of consciousness writing is a good example, and a lot of writers use it to get the gears moving.
I've been doing this for several months.. I haven't tried to force out daily posts, but I would like to keep what followers I have 'worked' for, so I try to post once a week at least. Thanks for the advice!

When I don't have something to say....I don't blog. I don't want my blog to be a place where I'm writing because I have to write. If I skip a day, I don't think it's a big deal. And a lot of the time I have more to say than I think I do!

Open a newspaper. Find an article you relate to or have a strong opinion on and write about it. It doesn't have to be political, but I find it an excellent way to find subject matter. It could even be an entertainment weekly or an online news source that you like.
