The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I was thinking about the election and how Obama has been slated to get the majority of the youth vote. I think that some of it has to do with his use of technology...In my opinion, he did a good job of reaching our generation where we live. Any ideas?

I had meant to post about this very topic BEFORE Election Day, but my busy schedule didn't allow it. Anyway, being the tech head that I am and considering it's my field of expertise, I wanted to compare both Obama and McCain's ideas and polices on technology-related issues. Plus, whoever the next President is, their views on technology will REALLY affect my business.

Here is a good article by from ComputerWorld you may like to read...
Where the major U.S. presidential candidates stand on tech issues

If you read that article, you'll see why Obama has my vote. McCain "admits he doesn't spend much time with computing devices, saying he relies on his wife's help with computers." And frankly, that scares me. I want a President who KNOWS what he's talking about when he is trying to pass a law. Plus, I LOVE that Obama is for net neutrality. Obama has long supported the passage of Net neutrality laws or rules. A key reason the Internet has been such a success is because it is the most open network in history. Whereas McCain wants filters and censoring - no thanks!

If you ask me, McCain just doens't get it. And I have to believe part of that is because of his age - sorry.
I also did a wrap us post the day before the election on the candidates and social media and the impact it had on youth turnout. It's obvious that Barack understands the importance of 2 way communication and listening. While many are arguing that Social Media did not the impact I think it did, it sure made everything more interesting and got more people involved had the tools not been available.
