The Bloggers With The Most To Say
What does it take to get you dressed to the 9's?
Do you have a routine?
A ritual?
A playlist?
I'm curious.
Permalink Reply by Angie on September 16, 2011 at 12:56pm Totally depends on what I'm doing! If I'm starting in and partying, good music, ample bathroom time to do something fun with my make-up and some delicious alcohol while I get ready. A shower with luxurious shower gel, shampoo and condition is also usually had.
If I'm going out somewhere, I usually wait until the last minute to get ready, so it's rushed. I much prefer two women parties in! :P

Permalink Reply by Shelly on September 16, 2011 at 9:29pm I'm a creature of habit. I like my routines. Two hours before I have to go, I shower, blow dry and flat iron my hair (or curl it, which ever). Then I pick out what I'm going to wear, steam it and hang it up while I brush my teeth and put on make up. I usually don't like to get dressed until about 10 minutes before I have to go.
God I'm lame.
I should add, this is when I get ready to do something fun. On a daily basis I'm a shower and go kind of gal.

Permalink Reply by Ashley R on September 18, 2011 at 4:04am My "everyday" routine is basic outfit, yank brush through my hair, gather purse and out the door - I don't wear make-up on most days. So when I'm dressed to the 9s, I'll add make up (eye make up only, nothing else) and if I'm really trying to impress, I'll curl my hair or pin it somehow. Probably also spend an extra 5-10 minutes looking for an outfit, but I don't have much clothing anyway so it won't ever take much longer. Everything else is pretty much the same. I do like to listen to some upbeat, cheesy pop music too, just to get me in the party mode.
You can also totally tell how I'm feeling based on the purse I'm using haha. If I'm intending to drink, I'll only have a clutch so it'll be less to remember; a cross-body purse if I'm intending to get my dance on so I won't have to carry anything; and if I'm reluctant to go out, it'll be my regular, massive purse that is cumbersome and heavy.

Not really. I actually haven't gotten settled into a going out routine here, but in college I always had a playlist of some sort - really upbeat music, with the genre varying by night. The prep order was:
1) Start music.
2) Get/pour drink
3) Deliberate over outfit choice for 5-10 minutes, but mostly dance around my room, while occasionally actually changing / looking in mirror
4) Makeup. This part usually took a while, because I would take it off and redo it, because I'm actually 8 years old and have ridiculous levels of fun playing with makeup and then belatedly realize that I am about to leave the house with that shit on my face so I would have to start over.
Depending on how long all of this took an additional drink may have happened. Occasional consulting with roommates who are also getting ready also factored into the time / amount of drinking. Amount of drinking also contributed to whether or not the insane colors remained on my face when I left.

Permalink Reply by Kayleigh Eneida on September 18, 2011 at 9:05pm The only time i ever get dressed up is if i absolutely have to and their is no other choice. Such as weddings and when i went to prom.
My ritual is usually tearing apart my closet trying to find something fancy enough to wear, yet not fancy enough to make me feel uncomfortable and then complaining about how I would never make anyone dress up if they didn't want to.
