The Bloggers With The Most To Say

What do you think about men getting pedicures? I know this is random but I am genuinely interested. I personally wouldn't mind seeing guys get pedicures because gross feet,,, well, gross me out. But some people believe it crosses the line of sexuality and "guy-ism". What do you think?

I'd prefer he just clip his own toe nails and keep them neat :)
As a chick, I personally love pedicures. I don't mind guys getting them so long as they don't come to "my" salon to get them. Here in Chicago we have guy salons that do pedicures, shaves, haircuts etc. If they go there then that's all good. Why would I deny someone the awesomeness that is a pedicure! Guys should't be scared to try em-- it's a great, relatively cheap and quick way to get pampered!
My boyfriends one for clipping his own toe nails & keeping his feet neat. He has really cute feet btw. Anyways, every once in a while he'll ask me for a pedicure and I give him one. It's kinda cute, but I guess it only works b/c his feet are nice. I don't think I'd be up for it if they were gross :X lol
Nothing wrong with a little manscaping...and that includes other areas like taking care of your hands and feet.

I for one LOVE being pampered! Like when I get my haircut how the shampoo girl always takes her time rubbing her fingers into my scalp - feels heavenly! Whether I sound gay or not when I say this, a good full body massage at a nice spa is right up there with sex and a great import beer to me! (and I'm not even talking about a happy ending, just a PG rated massage)

So yeah, I think most women appreciate a well groomed man. One should take pride in his appearance, but one should NOT brag about getting a pedicure, manicure, facial, tweezing, etc. Nor should one document these activites being done by posting photos online of himself engaging in said "girly activies", ahem Spencer Pratt! http://twitpic.com/3wtsx

Total douchebag.
I prefer trimmed up feet and don't mind if the guy hits the spa every so often for a man pedicure, preferably just a pedicure because man feet can be extremely gross if not kept on top of. I would be turned off if a guy was getting a manicure every week, it's easy to keep those man nails clipped and clean without all that.

I don't like getting pedicures with a guy getting one next to me though, that happened when i was in Mexico last year and it gave me the creeps, though I'm not sure why.
I don't mind straight men that go to salon or spas. They just take care of themselves, nothing wrong with that. I never like my men dirty and overly casual anyway.
I don't know exactly when it started, but I remember how it started... I woke up, jumped in the shower and as the water was running down my head I opened my eyes and noticed someone was in the shower with me and nearly freaked out. Dark red toenails were staring up at me but there was no one there. It took a second. Yes, I had been heavily drinking the night before. So I said, whatever, and since I had no acetone opted to leave the nail polish on.

Eventually, a few weeks later when I went to take it off, turned out that it stained my nails yellow. Gross. I went about a day reapplying acetone and alcohol to no avail. I knew what I had to do. I went out and bought some cheap silver nail polish and painted up again. That was something like 6-7 years ago. The trend has continued.

On the topic of getting pedicures though, I do agree that it is rather awkward just walking in with a whole bunch of women staring at you wondering if you'll be seated next to them. So I go with either my mom or my wife. We have to drag my mom out to get a pedi. The women there always get a kick out of painting a guy's nails... at least anything other than clear.

I only go in for a pedi once in a blue moon. I typically keep my feet neat on my own. They often joke that my feet are better maintained than my wife's. It's sad but true. She works next to a nail salon and they tell her about some of the creepy guys who have come in with nails that rival Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Then there are guys that come in that are simply too large to be able to reach and see their toes.

Manicures seem to be less of a faux pas for guys. No one seems to mind when a guy comes in for that...
