The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I have my email address posted on my About page and I get several emails a month from readers looking for personal advice, i.e. how to stop bullying (a topic I've never discussed). Has anyone else had strangers contact them and, if so, why?

I have had a couple random emailers. Some turned into great conversations! I would love more of that though!

I've never had strangers email me...that's really weird. I had my email in my sidebar, but the only readers who have used it are active ones who I almost consider (or do consider) friends at this point. Most people who email me VIA my blog are purposely engaging in my blog - whether I've made a request for submissions or opinions.

I have have back & forth emails with regular readers about topics on my blog - given them special, behind the scenes info on what made me write on a certain topic etc.

No one's ever out of the blue emailed me to discuss things that aren't relevant. Odd.

Just wanted to pop back in and say: I was inspired by this thread to make myself a little more accessible to my readers. I already had my email at the bottom of my About Me, but I made a separate Contact Me tab, since I figured not everyone will assume my email is at the bottom of my About Me. Anyway: I did that like two days ago, and I've just been blown away by how much more people have reached out to me out of the blue! So awesome :)

I've received a couple e-mails thanking me for posting about my struggles with infertility and PCOS. How inspiring I was for my weight loss and wishing me the best of luck during my pregnancy. One of those e-mailers has become a good friend.

I've never received emails asking for advice but I have received emails from people saying nice things about my blog or saying that they think we might get along so wanted to say hi. I love that!

I always get so giddy when I get a "we should be friends" email from a reader :)

me too! so awesome

SO many. Some want us to promote something that is not even remotely related to what we do, some want advice, some just write a lengthy email about themselves and why we should be friends.

Definitely strange, but also flattering. I'm glad our readers feel comfortable enough with us to reach out.

I wrote a piece

"10 Things I Learned From My Mother"

And one woman wrote me a really inspirational email saying that she was touched by my post, and that she didn't have a mother growing up and had to learn these things on her own. I was really touched!
