The Bloggers With The Most To Say

So, I updated my iTunes today and discovered Ping. I started a profile after reading what the screen said about it and found a few people I know (because it is fairly new) and found bands I really like. As a result, I got a free song my friend Christian found. ("Intermission" by Senator & the New Republic, in case anyone was wondering.) I think if this thing got going it could actually be pretty popular.

Do you have a Ping account? If you do, tell me! I'll follow you! :D
Search for me under my name, Jennifer Gleason, and look for the same avatar I have here. ;)

That sounds interesting, I'll have to try it!
So Ping is the iTunes equivalent to Pandora radio, give or take? Plenty of my friends love Pandora, but I feel like when I have about 85GB of music on my computer, it's a complete waste for me to listen to things other than what I've downloaded. :/ But then again, I already have tons of CDs that I haven't listened to yet, so why not find some new stuff to download and throw in the queue?!
yeah, that's how i feel about using pandora...
Yes, I was going to sign up for it... But I was quite surprised to see that they ask you to tick boxes next to a list of music genres to tell them what you like, and you can only pick three... How narrow-minded do they expect the users to be?!

Plus, I already use Spotify, and also have an account at Last.fm - so I'm not sure what the point would be, really!

But yeah, I probably will still sign up for Ping, as well... I can't resist things on the internet that you can "create an account" on...! :/
Yeah, I definitely see your point and I agree about the only choosing three thing...
I just chose my most often listened to for the threee...
I follow you, which you already know, of course :)

But I'm starting to find Ping kind of narrow-minded and a waste of time. What I wish I could do is something like, "you are following Jennifer; here's her top 25 on iTunes." That way I can get picks from my friends and we can kind of share libraries, in a way. That would be more worth it for me.
Have you tried Last.fm, then?
I have, but none of my friends are on it. So I have the same issue! If I had someone to follow on Last.fm I would like it more.
I used to be on last.fm but I stopped enjoying it as much... I think I just got bored with it. I announced my joining on Twitter to Ping and I've had new people following me and I them so I get to see what they're checking out and whatever. It's nice, I think. And I've already stumbled across a couple of free songs... It's been nice.
