The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Do you have a place on your blog where you promote the blogs that you read? A blogroll? I don't have one, but I think it's a nice idea to let your readers know of others interesting blogs.

Do you have a blogroll on your page? If so, how did you decide which blogs to promote? And how did you get on another person's blogroll?

I don't have one....only because I think it wouldnt look nice on my page....but on my old blog Id add blogs to my blogroll if the author of the blog commented on my blog a lot and if I aslo read their blog. So if I read their blog but they never read/commented I wouldn't add them. Or if they commented and I didn't read their blog I didn't add them (blogroll to me means blogs that I actually read). Usually, once someone was on my blogroll, Id let them know and theyd add me to theres!
I have a blogroll, I love it. Mainly I have it for me, so I can remember which blogs I like to check every day.
I use my Google Reader to keep track of the blogs that I follow. If I do get a blogroll it would be there for promotional purposes, but it sounds like a lot to deal with... I dunno.
I've heard a lot of people say they use google reader. My blog is through wordpress, so blogrolls are easy as pie. :)
I have a blog roll page, not all I read are on it because I read from my feed readers but it's a sampling, my original blog reads - the ones I started reading 5 years ago and am still reading, and some more current discoveries - to give people an idea of what I'm about.
Yeah, I have a blog roll. It's full of the bloggers I read regularly and have some kind of relationship with. I've gotten on other people's blog rolls just by building relationships with them and regularly commenting on their posts.
I think blogroll's are great for mutual promotion - but I only add to it if I really think someone deserves a spot. I was lucky enough to be on the blogroll of someone who got the blogger 'blog of note'. My traffic went through the roof!

Hmmm, I havn't updated my blogroll in a while, I really should do that.
I like the idea of a blogroll... I like being able to share with my readers the other great stuff that's out there. I'm picky about the blogs I add, though. I must ACTUALLY really enjoy the blog. Most of the blogs I have listed are written by bloggers that I have developed a bit of a cyber-friendship with and they have added me to theirs as well. It's a nice give and take.
I have a blog roll, I only include the blogs that I enjoy to read myself.

I don't think I am on anyone's blog roll, it would be nice though! ha!

My blogroll isn't for personal bloggers, other than ones I know in real life. The sites I choose are sort of an extension of my "About" section. I would like to start calling out bloggers I read and like in my actual posts. I think that might be more effective for promotion than the blogroll anyway, because you're explaining to your readers why that writer deserves time.

Holly at Nothing But Bonfires has an interesting blogroll--it selects a list of about 15 everytime you click on her Favorite Reads side bar. It's great because she doesn't have to bog down her space with a big list and doesn't have to remove favorite old stand-bys when she wants to add a new site.
