The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I've noticed this a lot on twitter as well as in my reader... But there are a lot of us doing some pretty awesome things, we're going after dreams, we're taking risks, and some of us are getting jobs...

And so I just wanted to take this time for us to share and celebrate all this exciting awesomeness that's been going around! Be it big things or little things, I want to do a happy dance with you!

I only know a small slice of what's going on with all of us...
Friends going after dream jobs, playing sold out concerts (500 people!), getting a job (or your bff, boyfriend/girlfriend getting a job), family celebrations, moving into new homes... There's just a lot.

So share the awesomeness that's going on in your life, or that you've seen happening for others!

I guess I'll start off with after quitting a not so good job situation in late July... I finally have a job!

I'm working at a local toy store and I couldn't be more excited! It's a small staff, two locations, and OMG TOYS! And it looks like it's going to be a very rewarding job...

I'll give my friends a chance to share their awesomeness before I bust out the crazy happy dances! ;)
My cousin worked at Hamleys, the 'biggest toy store in the world', in London. She said it was great fun :)

As for me... hm... I recently got a paid writing gig on a large tech/software news site. Awesome!
My sister is naming her baby after me. (well my middle name will be the baby's first name) I know not an accomplishment perse, but it must mean I've had SOME kind of positive influence on my sister's life.

as for me....i did something that made me happy with no thoughts as to who else it might please/displease. HUGE accomplishment for me.
I got lumped with a family name that would have disappeared if they didn't give it to me -- it's my second middle name, but still...
When my sister told me she wanted to name the baby after me, I told her flat out she had to use my middle name, or one of my nicknames into another name. I wouldn't want another generation stuck with my name...although I don't mind it too much.
Hmm...well, I LOVE my current job. Sure, it's in retail and no, I don't plan on it being a career, but I've met some of my all-time favorite co-workers there. I'm also going back to school in January after being out for a semester and I'm really excited about it. AND I'm planning a surprise trip to Disney World for my little brother. I haven't gotten a final YES about whether I can take him or not, but odds are looking good!
The act of frequently blogging is, for me, a means to chase after my dreams. I am working to become a better writer and I hope to write professionally one day. I've always been told that I am a good writer, but I have been frustrated by my lack of focus in the years past. This time, I feel much more driven and confident. The responses from my readers so far tells me that I am on the right track.
I'm starting my novel very soon. Finally.
well... haha there are a few awesome things in my life right now.. i've met and started to date a very successful guy from LA.. something i never thought i'd do [totally going out of my comfort zone on that one] but it is going very well and i am loving every minute of it. i am also volunteering for a crisis nursery where i get to spend time with kids ages 0-11 a couple hours a week and i'm getting closer to accomplishing my dreams :] oh and my best friend is starting her own company! awesome all around.
Like a stereotypical "artiste" wannabe, I moved into a rough neighborhood for the cheap rent, but appropriately found myself in an artistic community in my building. My neighbor is helping me figure out a solo act so I can start gigging. My roommate and I are working on getting a children's book published. I've finished enough music to release 3 EP's. I got a position title change recently and I am now a lead in my company's Research & Development department.

And though I've been getting hit with surprise kick-in-the-balls expenditures (like lame traffic tickets that cost as much as a guitar or replacing car parts) ... I'm f'n stoked to be where I am.
I wanna hear some of your music!
In the last 6 months I've started a new position at work, and I started there with a pretty much diagnosed social anxiety disorder and would come home in tears worrying about what everybody was thinking of me, terrified of doing presentations or speaking in meetings etc. and over the last few months we've been on a work retreat whose theme was "How to See and Achieve your Dreams" where we spent a weekend studying all aspects of our dream, mine being to get over my anxiety - since then, I've chaired meetings, done presentations, and tomorrow I have my very own class starting and I'm going to be teaching weekly - things I NEVER thought I would've been able to do!! I'm nervous but really exciting to actually be getting over it :)
