The Bloggers With The Most To Say

It never ceases to amaze me that sometimes, I put a lot of effort into a blog post I am passionate about, and I don't get a lot of feedback on it. But yet, when I write a random entry about what I eat for breakfast and why I feel breakfast is so important, I got tons of comments and emails.

What have you written about that's got you a ton of feedback you weren't expecting?

I totally agree, it's always the ones I don't expect that get the most comments.
I wrote one the other day about me time and how I need it, and really enjoy it.
Then I wrote a post about going for tea and how I hate tea, but my boyfriend promised I would like it this time. Nope, I didn't.
And lastly, I got Louboutin's at a flea market in NYC and that has been my post with the most comments..
Can't say I was expecting the feedback I got from those posts..but it's always nice!
This always happens to me. The ones I think are great get the least amount of buzz and the ones that seem so so get a ton of attention.
Happens to me all the time.

I think it's because if you write about one thing you're passionate about only people who understand that passion are going to comment. Whereas if you're like, "Yeah I had waffled for breakfast and then I got a haircut and oh I bought this cute dress" people feel like it's easier to leave a comment.
I agree with this! People want to relate and sometimes the things we are passionate about just don't hit other people in the same way.
my pretzels got alot of attention...
This happens to me constantly. It's the bane of my existence. So I'm thinking about just not writing anything decent anymore. I'll just go all... "pissed in the pool today, a little bug swam up to my yellow watery cloud, wriggled for a moment, died there on the spot. I've never been more proud of my junk." Stupid shit like that will make you world famous.
gotta admit, that's pretty funny...
...yeah I'd probably comment on that.
Looking at the traffic on my page through Blogger In Draft, I think it's crazy how many hits this stupid post I made about Miley Cyrus a year ago still gets. Ha!
I wrote a rant about wanting to have a penis for a day and it got 30 comments. I was just ranting...

I actually might steal this idea... what a great blog it could be...
I have a theory as to why that is, because it happens to me all the time: the more effort you put into a post, the more effort people feel the need to put into their comments which turns off some people to commenting, even if they read and appreciated your post. Things that are easier to post about tend to be easier to comment on. I like to have a healthy mix of both types of posts and everything in between.
