The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Recently I started up my old blog again and created "For the Love of Blog" in respect to blogs I find enjoyable and posts that personally touch me.

"I believe that blogging at its very core is centered around a person's need and want to be heard, but what I've learned from blogging over the past year is that sharing with and supporting those within the blog community is just as important."

What do you think? Are you a social blogger or a lone wolf? Why?

I don't know if I'm 100 percent a social blogger, but I love reading other people's blogs. And I don't share all the time, but if I read something that feels shareworthy to me, I share it.

I didn't used to be that way. I fell in love with The Bloggess and read her material, but kind of focused on my own after that. Now I see that you can't grow unless you learn from others. It really helps.

I'm pretty social... well let's face it, anyone on this 20sb site is pretty social already. BUT, I believe that commenting is almost more important than blogging because it show others that you care about what THEY have to say as well. I really dislike when bloggers never respond to your comments on their blogs and/or never visit yours. What's the point of blogging if you're not going to interact?? :)

Indeed! Blogging is about sharing and interaction. I always try to reply to comments and check out the sites of the people leaving comments. It's way more fun that way.

This is a big peeve of mine too. There are a handful of blogs I've unsubscribed to, simply because the blogger absolutely never acknowledges commenters - or even worse: acknowledges some commenters, but without fail ignores me. It makes me (and I'm betting a lot of the other ignored commenters) feel like they and their comments are just an annoyance to the writer. If they're a mega-blogger, it's one thing. But if they're smaller than me (which the ones I've unfollowed all are), I don't see what excuse there could be for it.

That's just rude.

I would argue reading them is, if for no other reason than to pick up tips and tricks for writing styles from other bloggers. I'm not big on sharing other blogs honestly, though it depends on the content of the post involved.

I'm half and half, being I write about my life and sometimes it can be boring so I don't expect people to share my posts. I do however, share others' posts if they were totally rockin' my...bare feet in a weekly recap on Sundays. :)

I like sharing awesome posts on twitter if something has really stuck with me.  Otherwise I just tend to link to my faves in the sidebar, although I haven't updated that recently...

Also, Nikki I just read some of the links you listed on 'For the Love of Blog' and found them very helpful, I had read a couple but Katie's one on creative business was new to me :D

I am so glad you read through those! <3

I always try to click through when someone recs something.  Helps open my eyes to new bloggers and interests :D

I started blogging for me.  I wasn't looking to make friends at all.  But now that I've joined this community and gotten to know other bloggers through their posts, there is more to it.  I still blog for me.  It's what I want to say, to vent, to rant.  But now that I know some amazing people that I've met through blogging, I will continue to read their blogs for as long as they are around.  I even did a giveaway and am going to host some kick ass guest bloggers, so I'd say it's become much more social for me.  Great topic!
