The Bloggers With The Most To Say

actually, it's a question i would like to raise here.

i just read (and verified) that Matt has just erased/deleted his blog in WordPress. i don't know why, maybe he's migrating his blog to blogspot or to somewhere else. Or maybe another reason.

but in general, what could be the reason why one should delete his own blog?

i mean if i decided to stop blogging, i won't delete my blog. i'll just keep it as it is. well, that's just me...

I still miss him though!! :'(
wow i totally have this freak out too!!! or when one of my visitors is from the same state as one of my major characters...i'm convinced it's someone I know. Being discovered is frightening. But I'm sure if it ever does happen, it will make my blog that much more interesting
Dang, and I just started getting really into his writing, too.

There are other outlying reasons for deleting a blog, too. Professional, legal, psychological, etc. But until the owner can verify the reasons, all we can do is speculate.

Preservation of real identity while managing a net identity is always going to be very delicate, and if you don't take care of that from the outset, then it's possible to expose too much to be safe.
I think I would give it a couple of weeks to be sure that I was really and truly through with blogging before I chose to delete it. But I agree that I wouldn't want to leave that bit of me out there for the world to read. Matt is just another amazing blogger in a long string thats gone. Its sad but the reality of life, people move on.
You nailed it with that end part. So many are leaving. He's just another. =/
I remember that one of the people we followed he ended up deleting a lot of his posts, and information (similar to blogging) I think with blogging there comes a lot of personal vulnerability, and that's what makes some bloggers so amazing in life. It's their willingness to be raw and to write about what's on their mind. But I think as time goes on and people know more and more about you...it can get kind of scary.
Even if I ever deleted a blog, I would be sure to have a backup of all images and posts on my computer. Too many memories to just throw away! But if I did end up deleting a blog, it would probably because someone who wasn't meant to find it did.
I think choosing to delete a blog is so, so personal. I'm on my third blog, and chose to delete the other two because I felt that I'd outgrown what had gone on. I didn't want to have old posts be so available for everyone to read, particularly since my life had basically fallen apart since I'd started blogging.

Anyways, I didn't know Matt, but I'm sure that he had good reason for deleting, and I wish him the best!
NOOO! you shouldn't delete a blog! its like a piece of art.
and my art teacher always says to me, no matter how unhappy you are with it, stick it in your scrape book and work on it.

but i guess if this guy deleted his blog for personal reasons, then tha'ts a different matter.
maybe i'd do the same...just make it private not totally delete it...
I love blogging. But I'd most definately delete mine it if got discovered by the people who know me in RL. Sometimes, I write about stuff I'd rather the people who see me on a daily basis to not know. Too personal.

But I think that'd be my only reasoning.
Maybe it got him in trouble somehow. I could see tht happening.
