Scoring Amphetamines and other Strange Requests from your Boss
So one day my boss walked in and asked me "where do you get amphetamines?" I, confused*, restated the question and he followed up with an explanation that he heard that drugs like ritalin and amphetamines can make you super-focused and super-productive and he knows that college kids are getting them and using them all the time. And where do they get them?
I explained it usually gets passed on by someone with ADHD, but he wasn't concerned with that. He then said if I came across any, he just wants to try it once.
A few days later he said not to worry about it, he's just curious.
*I was not only confused, but shocked because I currently take Vyvanse, a time-released amphetamine, and a rather high dose at that. So I was immediately thinking that I must be too fidgety or something, but I pulled off playing it cool. But my heart was pounding through my chest.
So yeah. I know I can't be the only who has a boss with strange requests. I want to hear more!

Well, I've been a personal assistant for the past seven years so the list goes on and on:
-Lunch consisting of chicken arrived, however, it was still on the bone. Boss does not like chicken on the bone, so I had to stand there and cut the chicken off the bone before I gave him lunch.
-Picked up boss' girlfriend's birth control pills.
-Picked up condoms for boss to use not with girlfriend.
-Washing car and then get lambasted when the buffer didn't get every single water mark buffed out of the car.
-Return engagement ring to jeweler for boss whose fiancee dumped him.
-Take really expensive car into shop because it smelled like death. Discovered that an animal had crawled up onto the engine and died and melted to the engine.
The list goes on and on...too many to count...

I've also worked as a personal assistant. I suppose these two stand out:
- Hiding one of the other workers because he got into a car accident in the company car but is an illegal immigrant with no valid license. Also, distract the police.
- Wipe crud off my bosses butt because her jeans got dirty.

While my boss has extreme unmedicated ADHD he usually manages to not ask me anything tooo weird. Though he is a big fan of sexist comments and remarks and doesn't seem to mind saying them in front of me even though I am a girl and HR.
Though he did once start a project at work called 'Find Jane a Boyfriend'. I found out about it halfway through the first meeting.
The best story has to be the one when my boss was wearing a speedo in the office though....

I had a boss once demand that I smoke a joint with her on our way to a work meeting. I refused and she freaked out that I was going to tell on her.

These stories are cracking me up!! I guess this is what I have to look forward to in the real world.
Also, is vyvanse better than adderall? I once cranked out a 15 page theology paper in only 5 hours on it and it was amazing.

adderall only lasts about 4-6 hours peaking at 1.5-2 hours. Adderall XR lasts 12 hours but doesn't peak until about 2-4 hours in, which is really slow...
vyvanse kicks in in about 30 minutes, seems to peak at about 4 hours but lasts for a good 12 hours. Unlike the Adderall XR it kicks in like a regular adderall - fast.
I would not recommend having any caffeine if you are taking these...

I used to work at a club in Portland, and I got all types of strange requests from the bands that were playing or their management. Not exactly my boss, but same thing: having to do strange things for people at work.
I've had to score weed dozens of times, cocaine twice, Reese's Pieces (Orange Ones Only), an antique desk lamp, a live iguana,and a few other strange things. It was a very stressful job at times.

My wife had to hide an iguana (in its cage) for her boss as it was her boss's daughter's b-day present and they didn't want to ruin the surprise. SO my wife brought it home for a day and fed it strawberries.
She also has to go out and find the trendiest toys for a 6yo and buy them because the boss is too busy (exercising) to shop for her children.
