It doesn't really matter. It is already used exclusively in science/STEM in the US.

though I have to say when I live overseas, not having a grasp of the difference from a Kilometer/mile and other things was SUPER annoying.
yes, I am so tired of having no referent for how large some scientific object is. Plus every time I encounter the standard system I just get annoyed.

lol, no it isnt more accurate. That is like saying English is more accurate than French. It is simpler/easier and makes more sense though.
with baking its more accurate!
I'd say that probably depends on the recipe And how closely you follow your measurements. Otherwise bakers wouldn't USE any other form of measurement.
Things should be... pounds/stones, feet and inches when talking about a person... miles in cars, and metric in everything else :D - just because that's what I'm used to :p x
