Pictures grab my attention first... even if it's just a random funny picture.

But not all good posts have pictures, so if the post has a catchy Subject/Title I'll totally keep on reading :)

you have a post the same title as one of mine except i haven't published it yet. 30 before 30 !!
Nice! Can't wait to read your list!

I read one post and if I like I continue, if not I move on.

well ...... i was considering but then i thought they might close my blog lol!! maybe i should start an x-rated blog ha ha
The title and first paragraph. If the subject sounds interesting I typically read the blog. The first paragraph also can make it or break it, so to speak.
I heard a writer once say:

The job of title is to get people to read the first sentence. The job of the first sentence is to get people to read the second, and so on and so forth. Pictures are to bring in those that might not have come in other wise.

He also said that most readers will continue reading if they reach the mid-point before they get bored or angry; they're invested by that time and want to finish.

So, that's the goal: make at least the first half of every post incredibly interesting before you fizzle out :)
