The Bloggers With The Most To Say

So, I have a bit of a stalker situation, well my boyfriend does and it's now effecting our relationship. I've blocked her from my Facebook, but now I'm a bit worried about her Googling me and finding my blog.

Would it mess with my current readership if I changed my name to my middle name on my blog or would that be too confusing? I could close it off and make it unsearchable, but seems to limit my experience a bit. Not sure how to keep the open forum aspect of my blog while also censoring it and keeping it hidden from certain people.

I dealt with this situation with an exgirlfriend and my blog. I actually deleted my Blogspot account because of her harassment on the blog (I was considering it anyway due to how unprofessional Blogspot looks, she just expedited the process). On my Wordpress blog, I only refer to real life people that I know by psuedonames, so as to protect them from my ex's insanity. Fortunately, she's calmed down the six months or so, but that doesn't mean I've changed anything that I'm doing on my end.

Yeah, I'm not really looking to delete my entire blog (it is on Blogspot, but I don't really use it for professional purposes anyways). I'm just looking for ways to make it not show up in searches when my name is Googled. And this girl is fucking crazy, so she may have already found it.

I know that Wordpress has an option to hide your blog from search engines, but I'm not sure if Blogspot has that option. You could always set the blog to private, I believe. I would not encourage deleting the blog, as starting a new one up can be pretty tedious in its own right. The only reason I went that route was due to wanting to leave Blogspot anyway.

Blogspot does have the option to hide it from searches. Part of me doesn't want to do that because I get a laugh out of the keywords that lead people to my blog :P But maybe I should just do it.

Better safe than amused in my opinion. Then again, I'm not much for living dangerously...unless you count an unhealthy obsession with rocky road ice cream.

you are totally right. I shouldn't let my silly blog ruin my life! I want to keep it light and fun, and I want to be able to write about crazy bitches without the actual crazy bitches finding it and killing me!

Blogspot lets you make it not searchable by search engines. Could you use a nickname on the blog and other things?

Personally, I don't put my full name on Twitter, blogs, or social sites. Maybe I will one day

I don't use my full name, just "Allison." But I'd rather not use a nickname, that's why I was thinking of going by my middle name perhaps.

I already changed it to unsearchable, yet I'm still getting Google stats from searches. It's still searchable on Blogger, maybe that's why?

It does take a day or two on Google to not be searchable... I discovered that when I did the same thing. I googled my name every day til I didn't see it there anymore.

Thanks for the heads up!

Install feedjit to your blog and you'll see who is visiting your blog from what country/state/etc. Check mine out :) http://confessionsofaturkishgirl.blogspot.com/

I think that would make me paranoid and I'd just want to constantly check it!
