I actually like that layout because it doesn't distract from the amazing photography work you have! they photographs are very eye-catching! Great Job! I love the sky picture! The pinks and blues are lovely!
I wouldn't change anything. I really like chartreuse, and i think it goes well with the brown background. the layout is balanced and clean. and you have a lot of pictures :)
I really like the layout, it's very clean and easy to read. I think the things in the far right and far left columns seem a bit too "junky", maybe you could work on making that a bit more concise - putting the "Thank You" stuff under rather than next to the award pics, for instance. The content is great - I love recipes and putting the steps on the photos is cool. Overall I really like your blog! :)
Usually I don't like busy-three-column layouts (especially if the middle column has the content -- I can deal with two sidebars on the right!) but... I actually quite like yours!
The top couple of pages are VERY busy though. The eye doesn't really know where to look.

I guess I'm mostly wondering how to expand my reader base. I have a small but consistent bunch of followers but it would be great to expand and get some new traffic. With the exception of commenting like a banshee what can I do? http://rainysaturday.blogspot.com
I like your layout and really love your content. The layout is really simple and works - sometimes the two smaller columns next to each other thing gets a bit confusing, though, just a little "much". I like it though despite that - maybe break up the orange, so that each column has it's own colour links? Or at least change the far right column's link colour, and keep the main blog column and the middle column with the orange. I don't know, I'd like to see if anyone else has any suggestions about that because I'm just not sure and don't want to give you bad advice, haha. As for expanding your reader base, that's a tough one and I'd like to have a magic answer for you, because if I did I'd have a bigger readership too! Haha. I think commenting like a banshee IS pretty key, sorry. Joining blog networks, keeping up consistent and quality posting and blog maintenance, etc really helps too.
If anyone else has any ideas about expanding readership specific to Amy's blog, can you suggest anything for mine as well? http://monstergirlwrites.blogspot.com/
Yip, nothing new under the sun I'm afraid -- you must somehow stand out from the rest, if you want more than just 'bloggy friends'. Generally if you comment somewhere, they will comment back. But to get more than '1 to 1' (i.e. you have 100 bloggers all with 100 followers -- the same 100 bloggers -- most of the blogosphere is a closed circuit like that) -- you need original content I think.
Or some lure to pull in people from search engines.
Again... different, entertaining, wild... all of that works.
