The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I don't know if anyone has heard, but Stephenie Meyer is releasing a new book in June based on Eclipse - the third book in the series!

Anyone excited to read it?
What did everyone think of that series & the fact that it's still such a craze?!

Personally I read all 4 Twilight books faster then I care to share... But now that I look back on it, I realize that they really weren't well written at all. They were however incredibly entertaining when I read them, so I don't regret it. But can Stephenie Meyer PLEASE move on to something else now?!

I liked them. They were an easy read that toatlly got you hooked. The movies on the other hand..... After reading the books, how detailed and what not they were I was FURIOUS at the first movie, it BARELY followed the story line. The second however was much better,

I've never read twilight, really never had a desire to. my best friend is absolutely obsessed and so because of her I've seen both movies. my mom has even read them all. maybe I should give this author a try? it will take me, what, 2 days at most to read a twilight-esque book? lol so I hear...
Stephanie Meyer is such a horrible writer it makes me cry trying to read her books. It's too bad I'm OCD about finishing a book series, otherwise I'd have scrapped the books long ago.

That being said, I like her idea. It just would have been much better carried out by a proper writer. Once I finish the saga, I won't ever read her again.
i love the twilight series, but this new book about bree.. i'm just confused about why she would write a book about this character. doesnt make sense to me. that being said, i will probably still read it just because i enjoyed the twilight books so much!
A new book huh? Well, I hope she goes into depth into Jasper then, he's my favourite character and he should have been the star of Eclipse!
My thoughts are, if it's not broke - don't fix it. I'd totally write another book on the same topic if I'd been that successful myself. It may tank, but hell - it's worth a shot.

Here are MY sarcastic thoughts on the whole Twilight phenomenon....Chocolate vs. Vanilla, Mustard vs. Mayo, Democrat vs. Repulican, Ed...
Yeah the Twilight craze kind of amazes me. I mean it's still such a huge deal. But I loved the books, not a huge fan of the movies but I loved the books. I agree that they weren't really all that well written but the amazing story totally made up for Meyers writing skills, or lack thereof.

But if she's writing a book based off the series, I'll probably read it.

The Host by Meyers was pretty good. Still weird writing, but awesome story.
I hated them - sorry to be so blunt but I read the fast because I read fast - all of them over a weekend, and all I got out of them was:

- She supports controlling, abusive relationships
- Girls shouldn't think for themselves
- Love doesn't have to have any reasons for it
- Love is the same as handing someone else all decision making power over my life
- The merits of the person you love have nothing to do with loving them

Seriously, absolutely ridiculous, trite, absurdity that probably influenced millions of teenage girls to go out with boys who will treat them poorly. Terrific.
exactly!! there have been tons of articles written that compare bella/edward to a typical abusive relationship. it's so sad that girls, inspired by the "romance" in twilight, actually aspire to have a man be obsessed with them to the point where the girl thinks she actually can't live without his influence.
*agreed* I read all four (TWICE) over the course of a weekend (yes, kids and husband were totally neglected) and as addicted to them as I was....they were so poorly written. It's like she vomited adjectives. :) I understand how it's become a craze because really- that's what you want. You'd love to have two men literally fighting it out over you. And to be so in love that you are willing to give up everything you love to keep it.

With that said, I can't make fun of the fanatics. Because I have a six foot cardboard cutout of Robert in my bedroom. No, I'm not joking. HERE
I finished reading Midnight Sun, I liked it! It's so good to be able to know things from Edward's side ...he's so sweet...so...human..
I have to add some notes because I read some girls think Edward and Bella's relationship is abusive...I think Bella might be weak when Edward leaves her but she is very strong willed as turning into a vampire is concerned...She wants to have sex with Edward and she doesn't care whether she gets hurt or not...she kinda is that 'angry kitten' they mention in Midnight Sun...If someone is naturally weak, I don't think others should decide for them, and Bella does make her own decisions.
But now that I look back on it, I realize that they really weren't well written at all. They were however incredibly entertaining when I read them, so I don't regret it.

Spot on. I'm glad other people thought the same thing - I devoured them when I read them, then almost as soon as I finished I looked back and saw them in a totally different light and thought maybe I'd wasted my time. But hey, at the end of the day, it's at least good to know what everyone's talking about. Probably won't read a new one though...I think I'd struggle now that I don't think much of the first four.
