The Bloggers With The Most To Say

So, confession time. I'm not one to be lambasting people with 4-letter words while I walk through the grocery store or crowded street all, "MOVE YOUR ASS."

But on my blog? Those explicatives are pretty much guaranteed, though I've had commenters say that it was unnecessary and grounds for poor writing.

What about you, 20sb? What do you think about using "the language" on your blog? Does it help or hurt?

New to 20sb, but you caught my attention with this question/post

I cuss frequently on my blog, I posted a little sub-title/tag-line that warns people of that fact before they decide to read what I have to say.

Your blog is yours and unless you're going for a writing award of some type, then I wouldn't worry about the poor writing part. I try my best to spell words correctly, but I use a lot of slang and I actually spell words wrong on purpose for effect. My sense of humor is a large part of why people read my blog and my sailor mouth comes with that sense of humor.

I agree, I almost NEVER cuss in public or right out loud in the privacy of my home, but for some reason, my alter ego comes out when I blog and occasionally, on colorful days, I let a few F-bombs fly and certainly the less offensive S-word and a-hole or something ... but usually I apologize for it in some off-handed way.

I've never had anyone complain yet, but I'll take it in stride. A lot of things are unnecessary and reading/following your blog falls into that catergory as well. It's harsh to say it, but if you don't like what I have to say/type/blog, then move along to the next cookie cutter sweet as sugar blog ...

Am I alone on this thought or right on target?
I have to agree. I mean...there are only what? A billion blogs? Yah. You read, cringe or pass or you stay.

But true, your blog is YOURS.
My swearing in my blog reflects how much I swear in real life.

Though I don't mind or judge other people for swearing, I was told at a very young age that frequent swearing shows a lack of character and etiquette. So I have a mental "credits" system that I use -- that is, every time I swear, I use a credit, and every time I am eloquent, gain a credit. Keeping a good balance not only ensures I am not just a pottymouth, but it also makes my swearing much more effective!

Also, I think substituting words makes expletive use more entertaining. Yelling "FUCKING TRAFFIC!" definitely expresses frustration, but yelling "CURSES! TRAFFIC!" is way more entertaining. Unrealistic for some people, but you get the point.
I do. And I'm like that in *real* life as well - I yell at the husband if he does it...and I don't rattle off f bombs. I like the idea if the mental "points." I may borrow that?
What a fantastic and suitably nerdy system, Nico!

I try to use 'frack' instead. But I don't swear much in real life, nor feel the need to in my writing.
I use "freakin'", "biatches" and "shiz" as my substitutes. I can't remember the last time I used the 'real' swears lol
I blog like I talk, which includes lots of cussing. Of course I don't drop F bombs all throughout each post, but it is used here and there.
But...do you think people find it (your f-bombs) more acceptable because you're male? I know. It sounds bad even saying it but...yay! society and it's weird rules.
LOL! Well, Im not male. I know, the sexy icecream man can be confusing.. hahaha! But to answer your question if I were a male, Id think so. But it all depends on who reads what I have to say. I try to connect with people more like me, or more my age. The older my readers are, the less they have to say in return. But come on, it's just like in person... If I burnt my hand on the stove top, a simple "ouchies!" will not suffice. The word expresses a lot, especially for me. But like I said, Im not one to use it in every other sentence, that I do think is kind of tacky. But a nice "FFFFUUUUCCCCKKK!!" really helps get out what I want to say.
Agreed.

And ummm...oops? I think I lost all my cool points on that one.
I blog exactly the way I speak.

No cussing at any times. Yes you read me right.
Sounds strange or difficult to swallow?
But it's very true.
Check out my blog for evidence at----> The Dialogue
I don't think it's strange :)

Maybe I take blogging differently?....It's like a huge outlet for me but it's also fun to create and mold a story from what happens in my life. It's like I get to be free.
