The Bloggers With The Most To Say

For whatever reason today I decide to ask the people of the twitters where they buy their shoes. I was surprised by the number of people who say they buy their shoes online. Maybe I'm the one behind the curve on this. Or I just have difficult feet. What are you thoughts on buying shoes online?

If you are an online shoe shopper where do you like to buy from?

I buy shoes online, but only with familiar brands. I have 'difficult' feet as you said but I do it for the $ saving aspect.  I know what my size is in certain brands so it's easier to just buy it online.

And I just hate trying on shoes at the store.

I have exactly the same problem - stupidly narrow heels. I too would never buy shoes without trying them on, even if they have return policies and whatnot. Plus, you know, the cost of shipping them back if they were wrong would probably send me broke!

I don't buy shoes online very often because a 6.5 (my size) varies from shoe to shoe, I've found. A 6.5 pair of Nikes sneaker may fit differently than a 6.5 Steve Madden flat, for instance. The only time a 6.5 is always a 6.5 (at least in my experience) is when they're heels. That being said, when I buy shoes online (which is very infrequent), I only buy heels.

I just did from DSW and unfortunately ordered a half size too big. The only reason I ordered online though was because I was out of the country. I didn't know if I could send it back because the box was already thrown out.

But I just went to the nearest store and asked if I could swap sizes and they said it was fine as long as they carried it and I had a receipt, even without the box. *phew*

So as long as there is a shop of it relatively nearby you might be covered. Otherwise a lot of stores send a return label with the package just in case.

I'd say give it a go and just stick to major companies who have good return policies.

I can't buy shoes online. Some shoes sometimes crush my pinky toe, and I wouldn't know unless I tried them on. I also like knowing if I can walk in shoes I'm about to buy. Though, my friend swears by Zappo's.

yes i buy alot of my shoes and clothes online. i live in a town with NO shopping at all (except wal-mart) so when i am in the mood to shop i gotta look online. i try to stick with brands that i know and sizes that i know will fit. if not some websites (like zappos) has a great return policy!

I don't think I would buy shoes online.  Clothes maybe, but shoes seem a bit difficult to me.  I am in between two sizes and have narrow feet, so not everything fits properly. And some shoes are just evil pain machines, I'd really need to try them on.  It would be a great waste of money to buy shoes online, and then come to the conclusion that they don't fit at all.
I don't buy anything online besides books and concert tickets! Ha I'm way behind on the whole buying clothes/shoes/purses/etc online. I just can't buy something without trying it on!! Or seeing it in person. Call me crazy..

I've only ever bought flip flops from Old Navy on 1$ flip flop day. I think it's just too hard to be sure if you would get the right size for your feet. And so many shoes look cute until I try them on... And what if they aren't comfortable?! I would only buy shoes online if I were replacing a pair that I knew all of the specifications for. But that's me.

And I love the fun of trying on shoes in a shoe store. And finding a million pairs you like but knowing you can't afford it. So fun!

I buy shoes online frequently but I always make sure to check the product reviews.  Also, I only order things that can be returned.  So far, so good.

I pretty much buy all my shoes at Zappos. Eliminates the hassle of spending time in the shoe store and they have such an easy return policy - and most of their stuff shows up the next day. LOVE them.

Even with my "difficult feet" and the variation in sizes, I don't mind the wait of exchanging things if need be. Also, if I'm buying them for a specific outfit, if I get them online I can try them on with the outfit and easily send them back as opposed to having to schlep all over the place with a shoe box to return the shoes if need be. In NYC, shopping can be a little overwhelming, and I can shop online at work! PAID TO SHOP!

I do occasionally dip into a shoe store if I see something I really like.

The only shoes I buy online are TOMS. Some stores carry them - but not all. So I just buy them online. And they are THE BEST SHOES EVER! And they are pretty accurate on my shoe size. I have two pairs and both fit my feet PERFECTLY! They are cute, comfortable, and you're putting shoes on children's feet around the world. What's not to love?
